CHAPTER 4: An infants illness

Sesh and Fel went to bed early that night. Fel finally thought his room was once again full with everything it needed. Jared asked to go to bed early as well; Ryou took him to bed wondering why. He noticed Jared looked pale, he felt his forhead but Jared felt completly fine. Ryou opened his mouth to ask if Jared was ok but the little tyke had already fallen asleep. Tucking him in and smoothing down the blankets, Ryou hummed a small celtish tune to Jared.

Ryou returned to the living room to find Nathan playing with a jigsaw puzzle with Shmoogy, Ryou sat down and watched Jack and Gash play on the playstation. Ryu and Tugger were still arm in arm. Ryou sat in his bean bag chair and rested. "Jared okay?" asked Shmoogy. "He feels okay, just doesn't look it." replied Ryou with an expression of thought. Shmoogy nodded and got up, he petted Nathan and said: "Just got to head to the bathroom." Nathan nodded happally putting two pieces of the puzzle together, he had not heard that Jared did not look all to well.

As Shmoogy passed Fel and Sesh's room he heard noised coming from the inside. He rolled his eyes and called out to the door. "Knock it off in there." the noises stopped and Shmoogy blinked and then heard Fel shout back "Sorry? What was that? You'll have to come in here!" Shmoogy backed off quickly and continued down the hall to the bathroom. Shmoogy did his buisness and washed his hands and began walking back down the hall to the living room. Suddenly he heard childish screams coming from Jared and Nathan's room. Shmoogy almost tripped and opened the door fast. Standing in his crib, holding onto the bar handle was Jared screaming at the top of his lungs, his face crimson, scared looking and ill. "EVERYONE QUICK ITS AN EMERGENCY!!!!" shouted Shmoogy. Ryou got up fast and ran down the hall "Nathan stay were you are." Nathan had got up to run over too, he knocked over the jigsaw puzzle, he didn't care though, fear was running through his little eyes. Both Fel and Sesh had rushed out of bed both swearing because they new there was trouble. Both ran out wearing robes. Tugger, Ryu got up and ran down the hall too. Jack and Gash (or at least Gash) thought it was best to stay and comfort Nathan watching from the otherside of the hall.

Ryou ran in and picked up Jared, instantly he vomited down the back Ryou's shirt, he didn't care though. He held Jared tighter. Fel checked his tempeture; it was the oddest thing he had ever felt. First Jared felt blazing hot, to ice cold then back again. Every few seconds he would change temputure. "Someone call an ambulence!" called Fel through the doorway. Gash was already on it "I got it." he said firmly picking up the phone on in the living room calling for an ambulence.

Nathan held onto Jack's leg tightly fear flowing through him. Jack looked down at him but didn't shaked him off. Ryou and Fel brought Jared into the living room. Sesh ran outside looking around for the Gaian ambulence. Everyone crowded round Jared, Fel and Ryou untill Fel told everyone to sit down. Nathan got his chance to see if ill cousin when Ryu picked him up, instantly he burst into tears and Fel glared at Ryu.

Soon enough the amulence arrived but only a few could go. Both Sesh and Fel said they would go. Fel asked Ryou to come along but he decided to stay. Nathan asked to come to full of tears it was hard to understand him. As Fel didn't want to waste time he grabbed Nathan firmly and got in the back of the ambulence with Sesh and Jared, Jared laying down on a stretcher.

After getting to the Barton Town hospital, after spending the night and after many tests Jared seemed to get better on the spot. It wasn't a cold, nor a fever, no illnesses they have ever seen. The tests just proved that he was perfectly fine. Jared was alot happier as he layed in bed in a toddlers ward. "If you feel its necercery we can keep him over night." said the docter to Fel. Fel thought, it was Ryou's birthday the next day but he wanted his son to feel better. "It was so bad the way he was." said Fel "Its a friends birthday tomorrow, infact his uncle, well a friend Jared likes to call uncle, but I think its best to leave him here for tonight too, just incase."

Jared wasn't happy about this news. "But I wanna say happy birfday to unkle Ryou!!!" he cried waving his arms. "I know." said Fel "But you need to stay here" "But I wanna go!!!" Jared continued to pout, throwing a tantrum, the other children in the ward watching him. One child said "Poopy gwoun kid peeps" Sesh saw him and just raised an eyebrow. "We'll come back to get you in the morning okay Jared?" said Fel, Jared nodded and Fel wiped his eyes kissing him on the forehead. Nathan looked up at Fel "Tan I stay too?" Fel shook his head but the docter spoke first. "Actually that would be good, he might be ill too, not that I see much illness." Both Fel and Sesh nodded and both went home after saying goodbye(Fel kissing both Nathan and Jared on their foreheads)

When they got home they were ambushed with questions, Fel explained that they both seem fine but needed to be checked up on some more so they stayed. "Maybe something is wrong with their room?" said Sesh. They all said they'd do some work on the childrens room to see if anything was wrong. Indeed it was strange to have perfectly fine healthy children, who are loved and cared for to just and only one of them to have a sudden illness that no one has heard of. In the end that found nothing. Gash said it might have been the heating going crazy.

Everything seemed fine, everyone hoped for the best, and also could not wait for the fact it was Ryou's birthday the next day. Fel agreed to go out and get them. Ryou said he'd go out with him so he could finally drive his new car he got early. That night was nearly at a end. Everyone had gone to bed early except for Ryou, he was making sure everything was ok. Eventually he fell asleep on the couch in the living room...
