So basically, we have Annie informing A/Erin and Nik that this rando pink-haired girl is the perfect chosen one. She has "main character energy" if you will. Mother died tragically when she was a child, likely due to the supernatural forces in the town. Because of that, her father was super distant growing up, and she trained herself to be a tough monster-fighting machine! She carries a bat, and even wears leather harnesses and combat boots on the regular. And her name? Destiny.

So obviously with all this information being ~common gossip~, everyone believes that Destiny is the chosen one, and she proudly sets off on a mission to defeat the evil and all that, along with her best-friend-sidekick-who-has-a-crush-on-her (Charlie, with tousled brown hair and gentle eyes, or whatever girls are into these days) and this mysterious brooding emo-ish bad boy (Blink, who looks like he crawled out of an early 2000s goth photo).

And then... they go back to their lives.

But also, not really. Because now, as A/Erin is cramming for her exams, or showing up to class ON TIME like a responsible student, Destiny is wandering in 30 minutes late covered in monster goop, and everyone is acting like it's okay. Hello, unfair much? Not to mention, as someone who can see all the supernatural s**t, A/Erin starts to notice an increase in supernatural activity despite Destiny's claims of her and her team "taming the monsters".

So... unlike the normal girls, A/Erin decides to investigate instead of taking Destiny's word for it. Her trio recruit Yuki, a quiet and very nerdy girl who comes from a family that has done quite a lot of research on and therefore is knowledgable of the unique flora and fauna of this town. She brings attention to an unexplored cavern in the northwest side of the forest. Nik, who comes from a family of ~adventurers~, also seconds that his relatives have not travelled that far. Yet, Destiny has claimed to have been to this area. sus.
