Lee was late for his first class of the day, but he had a pass that let him in with an excuse. As he was walking down the empty and quiet hall, he still couldn't believe what the principal told himl.

ABOUT 2 MINUTES EARLIER...

"Lee even though you'll be leaving us, I do have some good news," Mr. Takamoto said.
"After what you told me, almost anything would be good news," Lee commented.

"Yes, well... after notifying the principal of your new school that their offer was accepted, they told me that you'd only start in two weeks," Mr. Takamoto mentioned.

"So with that said you may leave now, Lee, and take this pass with you. You're late for your first class." the principal finished handing him a slip of paper.

As Lee entered his Algerbra 2/Trigonometry class, his teacher, Mrs. Graham, stated loudly, "Lee. You're 5 minutes late. Where were you?"

Lee handed her the slip of paper, sat at his desk, laid his head down, and said, "I was in the principal's office."

Mrs. Graham nodded and said, "Of course. He was talking to you about your transfer, correct?"

Lee shot his head up and everyone turned to look at him. "You mean that you knew before I did?" Lee asked.

"Yes, Lee. Mr. Takamoto called for a faculty meeting last friday to tell us," Mrs. Graham mentioned.

Lee pounded his fist on his desk in anger. "Why didn't anyone tell me about this? Is my opinion worthless when my life is being changed? Doesn't ANYONE have enough sense in their head to think, 'Hey, you know what? Maybe we should ask Lee what he wants before we make any moves.'?!" Lee said.

"Lee, Mr. Takamoto and your parents said that it be best if we didn't tell you," Mrs. Graham responded calmly.

Lee raised his hands in defeat and said, "Okay. You know what? Let's just drop it and get on with the last two weeks of school that I'll be having here."

The next two weeks were the most annoying two weeks of Lee's life. Seeing as how he had many friends, they all asked him if he wanted to have a party before he left. To every request he said the same thing, "No, I don't want to have a party and tell anyone else who has the same idea."

The teachers were slightly depressed because they were saying how they would never find a student as bright as Lee. The most embarrassing one was to his cross country coach. He was on bended knee trying to convince Lee to not leave.

On the fourth to last day of school, Lee saw something that he thought was a trick, but was in fact true. Lee was walking by the track after seeing his FORMER coach begging Mr. Takamoto to not let him leave.

Lee walked under the bleachers to do some thinking, even though it was at night. Soon he saw Cesia with her friends and some guy that he didn't know. He then heard and saw something that made him snap.

Cesia said, "I'm glad that Lee's moving. With his depression, I could easily cheat on him without him knowing a thing," she then kissed the guy. Lee marched out from under the bleachers and headed towards Cesia.

They all saw him with proverbial fire in his eyes. Cesia and her friends ran into the school knowing what would happen when Lee was mad.

"What do you want, Lee? You saw that, didn't you? What're you gonna do about it?" The strange guy asked him. Compared to him, Lee seemed short. "You're leaving tommorow so once you're gone, Cesia's all mine," He said and laughed harshly.

Lee, without thinking, tackled the giant and started to f*** him up. When Lee got up and saw that he had broken the guy's nose, kicked him in the ribs, punched out a few teeth, and caused his ear to bleed, he ran home through the dark.

When he got home, he ran up to his room and fell asleep with rage still burning inside him. He dreamt that he was floating in the darkness. He felt cold, scared, and helpless.

Just then, a small little ball of light appeared out of nowhere. When that happened the darkness disappeared and he was in the light.

Lee saw a young girl about his age with black hair and dark blue eyes appear. He saw that a dark shadow was following her and he reached out to help her. She grabbed his hand and he pulled her away from the darkness. They looked at each other and smiled. Lee had a feeling for her that wasn't love, but a compassion that comes from best friends.

Suddenly, a dark hand reached from behind him and grabbed his body. Lee tried to escape, but the hand started to fill him with the feeling of darkness. Soon the little ball of light that Lee saw earlier shot towards him.

As the darkness entered his heart, so did the ball of light. Lee was shot by pain in his chest, the darkness was being surpressed into him. He couldn't choose the light or the dark and was caught in limbo.

Lee woke up alarm clock buzzing in his ear. His father opened his bedroom door and said, "Lee, get dressed, put those dirty clothes in that box next to you, and help me get your clothes and other stuff packed. You're going to live with... your Aunt Roseline, in Okinawa. We hope that... you'll get settled in there quickly because you're going to your new school... in three days. Your stuff should be there by tomorrow."

Lee just sighed and slammed his face into his pillow.
