Sojiro leaned over Ryoko.
"Why are you all red?"
Ryoko didn't answer, she just breathed slowly.
Zola came in with a wet rag.
"She's got a fever. I don't know why it came this sudden though."
Sojiro watched with concerned eyes.

"You should of gotten better by now. Come on. Its not like you to just lay in bed all day."
Ryoko waved her hand.
"Leave me alone. I'm not feeling well. You know that."
Sojiro looked over at Zola.
"Why is she still sick. I only got sick for 3 days at the most. At the most! And she's been in bed for a week!"
Zola hung her head low.
"We might have to take her to the hospital if It doesn't go down soon."
*********************************************************************
"Is... Is Ryoko really that sick?"
Sojiro stood by the hospital bed and looked at her, then Zola, then the doctor standing next to her.
"Well, it seems that she has (Work with me on this. Its a fatal disease, deal with it!) It is treatable, but costly."
Zola started to cry.
"How much?!"
Sojiro practically yelled.
The doctor looked at him sternly.
"This is a hospital not a rec room. No yelling."
Sojiro crossed his arms and sat down.
The doctor looked back at Zola.
"$10,000."
Sojiro's mouth dropped open. To him, that was a lot of money.
Zola just sat down.
"I.... I... Don't have that much. If I sold everything, I still wouldn't......."
Sojiro walked out of the room. He exited the Hospital and walked back home, not taking the car.
He walked for several hours before reaching the house.
Zola was there, but asleep.
Sojiro walked next to the couch and plopped down on it.
"How are we gonna get that money?"
Sojiro said aloud.
He looked over and grabbed a newspaper.
"Zola said that you can find jobs in here. I don't know if theres a job that pays that much money though....."
Sojiro turned over and went to sleep.

The next morning, Sojiro went out early in the morning and started to jog. He usually did it with Ryoko, but not today, this week, or the past month. He kept running past shops, until something caught his eye.
On a phone pole at the end of the block, an ad stood out in Sojiro's eyes.
It read:
'Gang Races. Prize money Reward, first, second and third place get 5 G's and more.'
Sojiro read on to get the information and where it was going to be.
"Downtown, huh?"
Sojiro tried to remember where he had heard that, but shrugged it off.
*********************************************************************
Sojiro grabbed his sword and left the house.
It was about 12:00 A.M. Zola wouldn't let him go, so he had to go late. The races would start in about an hour.
