Here in the darkness,
I find shelter and hide.
For here in my shadows,
I can heal the pain that I hide...

Today she wrote to me about her,
in an effort to do what, I have no idea.
All she does now is confuse me,
for I have turned away from her...

I suppose she is trying to change,
hoping that i will come back.
But when will she see?
That there is no turning back?

She has said what she has said,
and i have moved on.
She has made the decision that changed us,
that's already been decided on...

I return back to the shadows,
that she drew me out of.
To heal the pain that she caused,
hoping that you would come...

You see,
these shadows are my home.
There are my shelter from the storm...

You have drawn me back out,
like a moth to a flame.
Your soul is like a mirror,
you are like me, inside and out.

I feel a kindred spirit,
one that can help me out.
One that can help me with this pain,
that i need to forget about...

But till that time,
when i summon enough courage to ask.
I retreat back to these shadows,
these shadows that act as my mask....
