~* Ramblings of a Psychotic LAAer *~
Fixing a Fond Heart (or is it?)
He rolled over, groping blindly for the alarm clock. Breathing a little sigh of relief as the incessant squawking abruptly ceased, Liam pulled his unwilling body up to sitting, rubbing his face and willing himself not to fall back into sweet slumber. He winced in the early morning light, rolling a shoulder to work out the kink that had formed there long ago and never seemed to disappear.

Too many hours of working on his robots had taken their toll, making the morning routine less and less bearable. It didn't help things that he feared for his very manhood now, ever since BatNeko had entered his life, along with her little club. Dodging them, running his shop, and working on the robots was doing a number on him, and he'd considered time and again to just pack up and leave Aekea for greener pastures. As he dragged himself towards the bathroom for a quick shower, the phone rang.

"For the love of..." Liam growled, turning on the light and looking at the ID before answering. He smiled as he recognized the number, picking up the phone. "Well good morning, Tiana," he purred, leaning against a wall. "Didn't expect to h... what? Sure, I was just getting up, you didn't wake me." He listened intently, his face starting to fall. "Oh, I see. Sure, I can be over in a few minutes. N-no, it's not a problem. Just don't try and fix it yourself. It's too dangerous. I just need to get some tools from the Faktori." He ran his fingers through his hair, wishing he'd taken his shower the night before. He started walking towards the bureau, digging for some fresh pants. "No, it's no trouble, really. You're a good person, Tiana, and it's my job, anyways. Just put on some coffee and I'll be right over, 'k? OK, see ya in a few, babe. Bye-bye." He hit the power button, tossing the phone onto the bed as he began pulling on his usual attire.

He wasn't particularly looking forward to doing electrical work so early, but Tiana was a special case. She hung with the LAA and seemed to enjoy the various tortures that they invariably inflicted upon him. However, ever since she'd gotten engaged, she'd seemed to mellow out a little, and they'd developed a sort of friendship. Granted, when the rest of the club was around, she joined in with whatever they did eagerly enough, but she was a good listener, and they would sometimes just sit and talk for hours upon hours. She'd confessed to him about some of her secret desires, like her crushes on BatNeko and Moira, and he kept hoping that she would someday want to go a little further with himself. He stopped by the front door, grabbing the keys to the Faktori and checking himself in the mirror. His hair was only somewhat disheveled, so he took the comb laying on the table below the mirror and ran it through hastily, getting the worst of the mess sorted out. He tugged down on the headband, gave himself one last once-over, grunting in half-approval before stepping outside. The low sun was less harsh than he'd thought, and he went on his way, whistling a little tune.

The coffee was just finished brewing by the time Liam arrived. Tiana answered the door, a steaming cup in her hand and a smile on her face. She held the oor open, giving Liam a little kiss on his cheek. "Thanks so much for coming on such short notice," she said, walking with him to the kitchen. "The microwave's been sounding a little funny for a couple days, and when I tried warming up my breakfast sandwish today, it..."

Liam accepted the coffee cup, holding up a hand. "Say no more. I think I know what the problem is. Just let me at it, and I'll have it working in no time."

In no time turned out to be a couple hours, but it wasn't a bad time. The two chatted about Liam's latest humiliations. Liam still flinched as he remembered the jolts of electricity that had wreaked havok with his back.

Finally, wiping his forehead, he stood back from the microwave. "Give her a try," he crooned happily.

Tiana set her sandwich inside, letting it cook for a short while, then opened the door and tasted it. She smiled, letting out a small moan, and hugged him tight. "Thank you so much!" she cried.

He chuckled, patting her back, letting himself smell her hair. She smelled of plum and lavendar. When she didn't immediately let go, he wrapped his arms about her shoulders, brushing soft lips across her temple. She drew away then, her face flushed.

"S-sorry," she stammered. "I-I..."

Liam grinned. "It's all right, sweetie. I should be getting to my shop. Promise you'll come by later?" He lifted her chin, smiling warmly.

She smiled back, her face brightening. "Of course. I'll make you something to thank you." She stood on tiptoe and kissed his cheek, then walked with him to the front door. After he left, she closed the door and leaned back on it, grinning and blushing. She thought for a bit, then rushed to the phone, hitting the speed dial. "Hi, BatNeko? Yeah, it's me. Say, do you still have some of that "special" seasoning...? twisted "
