Another night of listening to the rain,
it is so soothing, listening to it,
It helps me ease away the pain...

I close my eyes and i see you there,
standing on the beach.
Perfectly framed by the full moon,
you, honestly, are the only one to care...

I sit down with you on the beach,
and listen to the tide.
Just spending time like this,
washes my pain away, like the tide...

You have seen me like this,
for some time now.
But you never glance away,
or brush it away...

You just look over at me,
with that smile of yours.
That is so well complimented,
by that dark hair of yours...

You smile and tell me its alright,
and that everything is fine.
Of course it is fine, I say,
we are here, our lives entwined...

Here on this quite beach,
with nothing but the stars to watch.
We sit here and talk,
as the time, on by, marches...

We have both seen,
the darker side of the other.
And continually strive,
to help one another...

Your presence here is comforting,
my past just drifts away.
For if it would come back,
it would rot my life away...

We may be both in our own shadows,
we both may be feeling pain,
But when we are together, who knows?
The love that we could both sustain...

I open my eyes back up,
and watch the pouring rain.
