Because the boy came through and did his duty at the altar heart heart
It was a wonderful, fun day, and I may write more when I have a chance. But here's some quick impressions:
It was a beautiful ceremony, I really did get quite weepy. Those weren't just random emoticons. The ceremony was from the Book of Common Prayer (heh, if we weren't already married in RL, you could make a good legal case for that being a binding ceremony wink ). We did omit the obey line, because I don't make promises I can't keep wink
For prospective couples, both for Gaian and Real Life marriages, I'll just say a word to the wise here: things will go wrong sometimes. My flowergirl got grounded, the original bride of honor's computer crashed, and we still aren't sure what happened to the best man sweatdrop The bridesmaid and groomsman made for wonderful subs, though. Another friend filled in for the flowergirl.
Aside from that, things went wonderfully, and the ceremony was just as I imagined. We had had an outdoor wedding for our real wedding, and while I wouldn't change any of that (except the rain, maybe blaugh ), it was really neat to have a chapel wedding, as well. I guess we got our wedding cake and ate it, too. domokun
The post wedding smootchies, *throw rice*, and cake cutting went well. Especially the smootchies (yeah, I got some real ones redface in case anyone was wondering). The bouquet toss (I played tag with the women) was a hoot! Oxbridge gave me a 10 second head start (only one cheater, and she didn't win razz ). Nothing like racing about in the village chased by 10 or so flower crazed maids eek
The reception was fun, although the dancing wasn't very coordinated. Still we all made up for it in enthusiasm. Love that Celtic Journey music heart The Gaian Theatre Company put on a little sketch for us afterwards. After the party thinned out a bit, we all went fishing (the original plan was Cards, but hey, fishing is fun too).
Then we all said goodbye to our friends and had our Real Life dinner (we already had tucked into the cake and champagne. Yes, Oxbridge popped a bottle of champagne during the reception. I thought about making a cake that looked like the Gaia cake, but Lemon Bundt won the day)
Pictures:
Oxbridge and our minister ShadowCurse waiting for the wedding party entrance
The minister talking about the estate of marriage. Yeah, I started crying about then whee
Oxy comes through!
This took me about 20-30 seconds to get out. I am such an oversentimental silly person
We ran down the aisle while everyone *throws rices* And I got Real Life smootchies here heart heart
Reception at our place. Dancing to Celtic music and a wonderful play by the Gaian Theatre Company they surprised us with biggrin
