We've been planning for this for almost a year now, but I'm still nervous. Have to do SO many things before we leave on Monday. None of which involve posting stuff on Gaia, but hey! blaugh Actually, I did "close shop" this morning, and it felt much like the way I had to wrap up everything at work yesterday. It never ceases to amaze me how much this virtual world parallels the "real world" sometimes.

We're taking a month off. We've both been working fairly hard (partially to save for this trip), and we really need this time. And when better to take a month off then after our fifth anniversary? heart heart Our Gaian wedding on Sunday just adds to the feeling of this being a second honeymoon. Personally, I could have done without the last week of work, preferring to hop into a soaped up car with "Just Married" on the back and speed off, but I really can't complain.

Paris! Versailles! The very names are so heavy with romance. To walk the very ground where so many artists and lovers have trod for so many thousands of years. In a way, the French invented the love song (re: the Troubadour movement of the late 12th century). Certainly the language is tres bien

Part of me is frightened. I really don't speak French very well, ou est les toilettes femmes, s'il vous plait? being one of the few phrases I've mastered whee I suppose I'm also afraid of having too high expectations. I mean, everyone says "A month in Paris! How wonderful!". I end up afraid that I will grumble at the smoke in the cafes, or feel disappointed when it proves to be yet another city, however beautiful.

But really, at the end of the day, we could spend a month in Manchester and still have a good time. This is time to feel unpressed by a schedule. And mostly, it's time to spend together (sans notre chienne sad , mais elle ont avec un bon amie)

I hope to bring back photos, but we'll see how that works out. I'm a Luddite, after all razz Until November (Novembre)
