I once spoke to a rat, but he gave no reply,
I spoke to him again, looking him in the eye,
He twitched just his whiskers,
And blinked big black eyes,
Heard but unspoken,
Were the truths in the lies.
He told me without words,
The little furry beast,
"Two dot eighty-six,
And three bundles of fleece."
I walked away to discover,
What this wise wording meant,
It led me all the way,
To the land of Repent.
I asked the mice,
I iquired the dogs,
I questioned the cats,
And spoke with the hogs.
No answers I could find,
Until I asked a lamb,
He said,
"2.86 for the fleece of the ram."
