The Screwed Up World of Alyse's Mind (tread carefully)
Yeah, this is my journal. It has a lot of crap in it: bands, movies, video games, crazy crap that happens in my life (and that's a LOT of crap), and various other combinations of stupid and/or crazy things.
Yet another rant!
This time the subject of my rant is: gay marriage.

Now, I am the kind of person that's not always up-to-date with the news so about a year ago when my mom told me they were trying to ban gay marriage I literally turned to her and said "What the ********?!?!" I mean, it's MARRIAGE!! LOVE!!! How can you put laws on love, man! Doesn't the government have more important things to worry about than who marries who? I mean, there's a freakin war going on in Iraq and there worrying about two guys that want to get hitched!

Now, until the gov and the church started making such a big deal about it, I didn't really care who was getting married. But now that they both make such a big deal about it, I have turned into a HUGE gay-marriage supporter.

First of all, for all you people who bring religion into the matter, I do not believe gay love is a sin. The bible was written and revised by men and women, not by God himself (although I do believe the first bible was pretty close to whatever God said to someone). Just because the bible says that being gay is bad, that doesn't mean it was in the original bible. During the middle ages when the Christian church was a dictator, they made up all sorts of things and claimed it was stated in the bible so that they could continue to be a dictator over the illiterate people who couldn't read the bibles themselves. Did you ever think that some bishop or priest just decided one day he thought gay marriage was bad and then started preaching it? This probably led to it being in our bibles nowadays. And another thing, the bible also states other "sins" that we don't seem to give a damn about. We're also not to shave our beards and do ANYTHING but go to church on Sunday (no going outside, going to the bathroom, or eating; you can't do anything!). Also, the bible states we shouldn't JUDGE OTHERS. The church says not to judge others and yet they're trying to ban gay marriages?

Since you were born, didn't your parents teach you that it's what on the inside that counts? That you shouldn't judge others by what they look like? During the civil rights movement, people got mad because we segregated between blacks and whites, and now we're doing the same between gays and straights. How can gay people be hell-bound if they are open-minded enough to not see gender, race, or origin but instead see what's on the inside? Does this not make them holy since they don't judge others and can even grow to love someone regardless of what they look like or whether they are male or female? If not judging others is a sin, then our god and our devil are one in the same. It's actually pretty sad how judgemental people are nowadays.

Here's a question for all ya'll who insist that gay marrige is a sin: what is the definition of the word "sin"? It goes a little something like this: anything that hurts anyone mentally or physically in any way, shape, or form that will get you in trouble with the G-man. So here's another question: how is being gay a sin? Does it hurt anyone? Does it really? No, it doesn't.

I wouldn't be so pissed about this is the church would obey ALL of the rules in the bible instead of just picking which ones they want to follow. This is why I have become athiest because religion follows the rules of man and not of God.

So, anyway, just let gay people be gay and let straight people be straight and let them both do whatever the hell they want (as long as they don't hurt anyone, of course) and we can all be happy lil peoples in this big place that we are slowely destroying called Earth.

Rant ended.
