hey, i know that i have been making stories and i haven't finished them but i found this one just a few days ago that i wrote a long, long, long, time ago but i am typing it up... still working on it!
THE BLACK WARRIOR THE TEST “Good morning master.” Ryan greeted Master Killian as he walked into the classroom. He checked the blackboard as always. Nothing was written. Master Killian sat at his maroon colored desk that had big piles of unfinished or finished documents. The usual smell of tea filled the room from Master Killian’s cup. “Good morning, sit.” He did as he was told and watched him write. He couldn’t stop himself from moving. He was impatient of what is going to happen that day. He would do great on everything else but the active tests, he always would fail them. “Master, what are we doing?” He blurted out. Master Killian looked up and took off his glasses. He stared into Killian’s deep golden eyes. “I almost forgot! Come, follow me.” Ryan got up and followed Killian out of the classroom. They walked a little ways when Killian stopped. It was so soon of a stop that Ryan ran right into him. “Sorry Master.” He apologized. “Aren’t we going in?” “You are. Do you remember what I told you yesterday?” There was a moment’s pause. “Yes, you said that there is a test that I would take that is unlike the others.” Ryan repeated word for word. “Very good, now remember this, this test has never been beaten. Not even I have beaten it. So, you are not expected to beat this, it’s just to see where you are.” Ryan understood completely. “Do you understand?” Yes, now can I go in?” Okay.” Killian opened the heavy metal door with difficulty. Ryan burst through but stopped right away. The room was pitch black. ‘This is the test?’ Ryan thought to himself. Suddenly there was a warm breeze and the dark room appeared to turn out as a battle field. His heart beating in his chest from the sudden change, he looked around. There was a horrible smell of rotting meat but he ignored it and took in what was around him. Not far to his left, there was a small, weather beaten shack. Not thinking, he ran over to it. Not much lay inside there. A battle axe hung on the wall, dusty and rusted. Some battle garments lay on the floor in the corner, covered in dirt and hay. Nothing looked like it would be of use to him so he turned to leave. As he was turning, something caught his eye. A sword was propped up against the wall of the shack. He grabbed it and headed out. Not far from the shack were some stables. ‘That’s weird there shouldn’t be a stable in a battlefield.’ He thought to himself so he decided to head across the green field to see what was in the stables. For some reason his palomino unicorn that was about four years by now was standing alone. No other unicorns or horses were in there but her. While looking around, he found a saddle resting on the wearing out walls. He took it and put it over Reika’s smooth body. Talking soothingly to her to calm her down, he threw his leg over her back. She carefully went out. Reika wasn’t the type of unicorn that had wings or the kind that is tough and not really easy to scare. She was still new at the whole riding thing and she could get really scared easily. Ryan thought that she was the best unicorn. She was always sweet to him and everyone else. Which is unusual for a unicorn her age. They rode around the battle field to help Ryan take in all that was around him. Other than the shack and the stables, there were no other buildings. Suddenly there was a loud thumping noise like buildings crashing making Ryan look up. The smell of rotting meat was so great that he nearly fainted. A dragon three times the size of a four story building took up the whole sky making it dark. From where Ryan was, he could barely make out the color of the dragon. To him it seemed as if it were blood red which meant that it was terrifyingly mad. This made Reika so scared that she reared up making Ryan fall off of her back. She landed on his arm making him scream bloody murder. It felt as if the whole world would cave in, pain spread from his arm throughout his whole body making feel like he died ten times over. He laid there feeling the pain burst through him making it feel like his brain would explode. The pain didn’t subside but he forced himself to get up. He wobbled a bit from dizziness. Then there was a loud crash and the ground shook making Ryan fall. He screamed out again when he landed on his arm. Forcing himself to get up again, he turned around and saw the dragon. Its blood stained teeth were showing and the smell of rotting blood grew. Ryan gulped down the pain and the horror and pulled out the sword with his good arm. The dragon must have seen him gulp and the panic look in his eye because it started to snap its blood stained teeth. That frightened Ryan but he didn’t show it in fear of what the dragon might do. He kept staring into the dragon’s startling sewer green eyes. The color of the eyes determined what the true color of the dragon was. The sound of bells chiming filled the air. The dragon was laughing at him. That just made Ryan furious. He set off at a run. ‘This child can’t beat me! He is younger than the others.’ Ryan heard it chuckled to itself. ‘But he…’ The air filled with its roars from Ryan slicing its legs. Black, sticky blood covered his sword and his eyes. Since he couldn’t see, he blindly slipped under the dragon’s belly, thrust the sword into the spot he thought was good with his good arm, pull it out, and run out from underneath. As the dragon crashed down to the ground, Ryan was thrown off balance and fell, this time not on his bad arm. He wiped his eyes and looked up. The look in the dragon’s eyes was the sign of dying. It was straining to live. ‘HOW COULD A YOUNG HUMAN DEFEAT ME?’ It roared angrily. A few minutes before it died, it turned its head to Ryan. ‘Get the…baby before…you go, just…over...that…hill…’ Its head smashed onto the ground and the eyes went blank and lifeless. Ryan got so overwhelmed with the grief of killing a living thing and the excruciating pain of his crushed arm that he fainted. A few minutes later, Reika nudged him back to consciousness. Still feeling dizzy from the effect of the faint he got up with the help of Reika. Not sure where to go, he remembered what the dragon breathed out before becoming as lifeless as a rock. He leaned on Reika and didn’t get up in fear of falling off and they walked to the only hill around the flat field. Once at the top, Ryan saw that there was a small tree at the bottom and looking very closely, he saw a baby dragon not much bigger than his head sleeping in a little nest. Cold glassy tears ran down his cheeks as he unsteadily went to the tree and reached up with his good arm. The baby dragon’s scales were bright purple which meant that she was very joyous. He cradled her in his arms and headed back up the hill. Reika whinnied at him but he ignored her. “I am not riding you. I don’t want to fall off because of my bad arm.” She nudged him in the back. He turned to her. “What Reika? I told you that I can’t ride you.” Her head tossed and her silvery gray mane wisped all around her. The same noise and the same smell of rotting meat developed. Ryan’s eyes got wide and he looked up. “Not another one!” It was a different dragon. This one was just the same color of blood red but from the ground, Ryan could see the misty dark black of its eyes. He shook his head and put the baby dragon into a saddle bag on Reika. “Make sure that you get to the stables alright. Don’t let the baby get harmed.” Reika cantered off. Ryan closed his eyes and breathed in and out. The thumping noise grew louder and louder. It seemed as if it were coming to land. Ryan dashed to the ground so he wouldn’t be thrown off balance. The dragon landed with much more force than the other dragon had, making the ground shake even more heavily. Once the shaking subsided, Ryan shot up and stared at the dragon. Its head lunged for him but he had his sword out and stabbed it in the eye. The dragon roared out in pain, its forelegs flying everywhere. He made sure that he dodged each and everyone of them. Once gaining control, the dragon straightened up. It lunged again and Ryan dodged barley making it. The dragon ruffled its wings in agitation. The sight was not pretty. If you were just taking one look, you would pass out cold. Sizzling orange blood gushed out of the dragon’s eye and there were cuts all over its muzzle. Ryan didn’t know why this one would not stop after all of the injuries he was giving it. It lunged for him again. Ryan dodged it once again but stabbed his sword into the dragon’s neck before it pulled its head back. He pulled it out and ran like he did the other dragon. This time, he wasn’t blinded by the dragon’s blood so he saw the right spot and shoved the sword in. the dragon roared in protest and as it scourged down to the ground. Without realizing it the dragon spit out scorching hot flames at him before it died. The skin on his bad arm was burned deep. There were no other serious burns other than that one on his arm. Stiffly, he looked back at the dragon. Like the other one, its eye was just as blank and lifeless. Gathering the last of his strength, he forced himself forward to the stable, the shack, the other lifeless dragon, Reika, and the baby dragon all were. On the way back, he hoped that there were no other dragons to slay or any other terrifying creatures of that sort. As he got back to the stables, he tiredly hooked Reika up, put the saddle away, and wrap the baby dragon up in a bunch of rags that he found under some hay. He cleaned the sword on the grass and propped it up against the stable walls and headed back to where he started, hoping that he passed whatever the thing he was supposed to pass in the test. Sweat trickled down his temples as the battlefield scene went away and turned back into the black room. The door was ajar and Master Killian was studying his pocket watch.
