The history of Year One is unknown to all wolves in the Vale. It is thought that the Valley was inhabited by small numbers of wolves who all ended up leaving or dying off.

Y2. The valley became infamous for being a haven to wolves. It was prosperous (for the most part, since nothing was spontaneously combusting or anything), and (most of) the wolves lived in peace. They came, they went. Some wolves died, while others moved up to take their places. Packs existing in this time involved the Ankhame Cadre led by Anthem, Wayward Reverie (led by Drache), the Pariah Pack of old (led by Raven), the Nevermore Syndicate, and The Guardians (led by Lucidis). And, so was the way of life in Taiyae, until things started to go sour. It's not really known what happened, but in short, Taiyae began to fall. The wolves who didn't die off left for more prosperous lands. Soon enough, Taiyae was empty.

Y3. Since then, many months passed. Natural distasters have altered the lands to their will, so that anywolf who returned did not recognize the familiar scenes of Bigroot Grove, Leagues Lake, or perhaps even Clouded Pass. Still, however, the landscape of Taiyae contained many stories, many secrets, and many promises of new life. Wolves began to return to the Vale. Two packs were formed by the newly-arrived wolves: the Auraetus Guard, led by Sprite and his mate Satis, and the Orane Cadre, founded by Ace and Saekayla. Things seemed fine for a while.

Y4. Yet, later times yielded more ominous news. Short-lived was the peace that seemed to protect the Valley. The calm before the storm had ended, and the first clouds were rolling over the horizon of Taiyae. Not a soul failed to notice the tension brewing in the thick, muggy air - pack wolves either dreaded or loved it, and Rogues found their places to fit in.

The Warriors of Darm had formed at long last - Taban's band of bloodthirsty Rogues lusted for dominance, for control over the Valley of Taiyae. The Warriors had taken their share in territories, claiming Piedras Rojas (a desert-like area once inhabited from the Pariah Pack of old) and its resident Crimson River. Also, the Warriors had invaded Orane Cadre territory to take the grassland known as Southern Run for themselves - they faced little resistance due to the small number of Cadre wolves. Was the future of the Orane Cadre in danger? The future of the Vale itself?

Nuera, son of Raven (leader of the old Pariah), along with Rayne, a young newcomer to the Vale, rebuilt the foundations of his father's band. The area Nuera wished to claim, however, had been swept out from beneath him by the Warriors of Darm. For the time being, the Pariah wolves retreated, but all who bore witness to Nuera and Rayne's run-in with the Warriors knew that soon, the stones of Piedras Rojas would be redder than ever before.

The Pariah wolves became an official pack, and turned to seeking allegiance with packs in neighboring regions - the Orane Cadre, a small but loyal group, and the Auraetus Guard. Pariah claimed the Northern territory of Horizon Mountain.

War seemed to grow imminent as Sprite, leader of the Guard, caused the death of the Warriors' second-in-command, Nightshade. This news affected each pack differently-- while the Warriors grieved and plotted eventual revenge, the Guard, the Cadre, and Pariah realized that the lurking danger on the horizon was now inching closer.

Present. Year Four draws to a close as the cold winter months set in. As if the threat of war among packs isn't already enough, newcomers to the Vale seem to be bringing with them a sickness-- a fatal plague. It is rumored that Nuera (who left the Vale and returned a few months later) was the first wolf to bring back this disease. Many wolves are contracting it even now, and the search for a cure becomes high priority. Rumor also has it that the Warriors may know how to overcome the disease...
