Hung out with Martine last night. It was a lot of fun, but awkward earlier in the day. It was Father's Day, and I thought they had done their celebrating and the like. Nooo, her older sister was working and they were waiting. It's so odd. Like, I don't remember doing anything on Father's day, and then I shared a story about when I first met my father. And they all looked at me oddly, almost pity, half "you're better off anyway"-looks.
I felt awkward sitting there, while they exchanged cards, and I had given him a gift for his birthday, which was last week, so I got a hug out of the deal. But I dunno, they treat me like family. But an actual family, not the whatever-it-is I was born into.
But yes, the funfun part. Martine has a webcam, and we turned that on and we just were silly and got fun photos out of it. All because we have a handful of photos together.
