• There was a crack of lightning as midnight drew near. Cats wailed, dogs barked and doors slammed. I however was in no rush. I knew what awaited me at home. As I walked along the dark streets I slipped into a daydream.
I remembered the happy days when me and my twin sister would hide together in the attic whenever our step dad got mad. We would throw water bombs on his large empty head from the window then duck down out of sight trying desperately not to laugh. Then disaster struck, quite literally. Me and my sister were walking down the road at night in a thunder storm. There was a flash of lightning and my sister dropped dead to the floor. I crashed down to her side and sobbed so loudly that someone tipped a bucket of water on my head.
I shuddered, that memory was best left inside my head. I looked up at the sky. I saw lightning, had a horrible thought and ran "home". I leaped inside and slammed the door shut. My step dad was waiting for me impatiently. "Where have you been James"?
"Outside...". I gasped (I was still out of breath.)
"GO TO YOUR ROOM!!!" He shouted madly. My step dad had always been like that. Once I came in exactly on time but in tears (that was the night my twin died) he glanced at my wet cheeks and shouted that I was a pathetic crybaby.
I muttered under my breath I wanted him to hear me but he's deaf. I stomped to my room and hid under the covers. My clock ticked midnight but I didn't hear, I was asleep. My door creaked as it was swung open. The vampire slipped silently into my room and observed me. He nodded contently and smiled. Then he bit... I tried to scream but nothing came out.
