• Chapter 5

After I ate with the boys, I went up to take a shower, and once I came back, someone else came in. Brent.

"Hey Brent. What're you doing here?" I asked.

"Emily, I really need to talk to you," he said.

"Sure, what do you need to talk about?" I was beginning to get anxious.

"Well, I was wondering... If you... want to go to the–" Suddenly, Brent was interrupted by the shatter of glass.

"Let's go check it out," I said.

When we arrived, Andrew and Jacob were fighting. It was with amazing speed, then, that Andrew ran at Jacob, and Jacob did the same. That was when they clashed.

"I get Emily, not you, you blood sucking leech," Jacob shouted.

Andrew's temper rose as he responded with equal force,"Well at least I'm not mister twinkle toes. I know she sure as hell doesn't want one of those!"

Andrew began to seethe and threw another pot at Jacob. I gasped in surprise, and that was when Jordan came running in to try and stop them.

"Stop it guys, she's not going to want either of you if you continue to act like children," Jordan scolded.

"Besides," he continued, "I know for a fact that I love her, so she should get me, not any of you!"

There was a pause, and Jacob and Andrew looked at each other. " NO!! I love Emily!!" they both shouted in unison.

They were starting to push at each other now. This time Jordan was the one who threw the pot at Andrew. I was starting to get mad that they were fighting over me. No, make that really mad that they were fighting over me.

Suddenly Derek came storming in and added," No, you guys don't love her. I do!"

Damien heard all the fuss and said, "You guys are pathetic! When you want a girl, you're supposed to let her choose who she wants- you don't fight over her."

"Besides, I love her too, and the only thing I want from her is her... happiness," he added with a soothing, calm voice.

"I love Emily too, and I think that she should choose to whom she loves," Daniel said with a nod.

"I LOVE HER TOO!!" Brent virtually screamed.

I looked around and saw everyone looking at me with their flustered faces. I thought it was kind of adorable how they looked. Besides, I was a little confused too. Suddenly I was very light-headed.

"I'm... I'm so confused!" I cried, as I slipped away into the cold, bitter darkness. Suddenly, everything faded to black.

That was when I woke up. My head hurt horribly and I felt really dizzy. I tried to sit up, but couldn't. The throb was unbearable. Derek came in with a tray of food and sat next to me.

"Emily, I'm really sorry about the other day," he said softly, an embarrassed look on his face.

"It's okay, but..." I trailed off as I saw Jacob running in and he engulfed me in a huge hug.

"Emily, I'm really, really sorry for that stupid fight we had." Jacob said meaningfully.

I nodded slowly and looked around. I wasn't in my room- this one was different. It had black walls and dark red engravings. I assumed it belonged to Andrew. Daniel came in next, looking happy to see me finally awake.

"I'm really glad you're awake, Emily," Daniel said, with such a great amount of calm that it kind of amazed me.

I heard my stomach growl, and I took the tray away from Derek and started to eat. I was ravenous. That was when I noticed someone was missing. What happened to Andrew? And where were Damien and Jordan?

" Um... guys, where are the others?" I asked.

They all looked at each other and Jacob said,"Well, Andrew needs to rest right now, Damien is probably on the porch, and Jordan is taking a nap."

I nodded and tried to get up, but the boys insisted I lay down. I was upset that I couldn't get up to go see Andrew and Damien.

"Emily, since you're a vampire, you need to take special medicine." Daniel said gravely.

Honestly, I wasn't a big fan of medicine, so when they brought a cup of something red, I was ready to scream because I knew what it was. I adamantly refused to drink it. It was blood- how could anyone drink such a thing? I bet it was nasty, too. Then Jacob moved towards me and pinned me down while Daniel opened my mouth and poured it in, forcing closed my jaw right before I could spit it out. When the liquid touched my tongue, it was surprisingly sweet. I found myself grabbing the cup on my own, and I gulped it down without hesitation.

"How come it was sweet? I thought it would be bitter." I said with a frown.

"It's just how vampire taste buds are programed," a voice said. I looked around to see where it came from, and there was Andrew gazing through the window.

I nodded slowly, trying to process this new piece of information.
