• I was on my way to school when I heard a scream from across the street. When I looked, I saw a man about to attack a woman. I knew he saw me and I started running. I looked back and saw that he was chasing me. I ran faster but he was gaining on me quickly.
Right then I heard a gun shot and froze on my tracks. I turned around and saw a young man holding a gun standing over the dead man. I was so stunned that I couldn’t move. The man asked, “Miss, are you okay?” I fainted on the spot.
I sat up quickly and wiped my extremely damp forehead with the back of my hand. I had woken up in a hospital room. I realized that the man carried me here. I looked around and saw him asleep on the chair on the opposite side of the room. I quietly got out of my bed and went to the bathroom. When I returned, he was awake.
I said, “Hello.” He said, “Hi, my name is Jack, what’s yours?”
“My name is Violet. You’re the one who saved me. Thanks, I appreciate it.”
“No problem, you should really call your family to come and pick you up.”
    “Okay, thanks again. Bye.”
    “Goodbye.”
I left the hospital and called my parents to pick me up. On the way home, I explained why I was in the hospital. The next day, my dad drove me to school. My parents didn’t allow me to walk anymore after what happened the other day. When I arrived at school, I went straight to my first class. When I entered, in the seat next to mine was Jack, the guy I met yesterday. I sat down in my seat and got my materials ready for class.
Jack said, “Hey Violet, can you show me around campus after school? I’m new here.” I replied, “I can tell. Sure, I’ll show you around later on.”
Then class started. The day went by in a blur. After school, I showed Jack around the school. As each day passed, we got closer and closer until we became inseparable. Jack became my best friend and then my boyfriend.
We did everything together. We went to class and prom together. We also graduated together. Then on the night of our two year anniversary, he proposed to me. Obviously, I said yes to him. Who knew my savior would end up as my true love.
