• Hunter looked out over her backyard.
    “Hmph”
Nothing interesting. Nobody, nothing, not even a squirrel. She crossed her arms and leaned back against the tree she was in. Great here comes Tanner she thought. A lean well tanned young boy climbed over the fence connecting their yards with ease. He grinned at Hunter with his megawatt smile and began to climb the tree she was in. Hunter started to protest
    “Tan…..ugh oh well”
He grinned mischievously at her. Silently she turned and studied him. He could have had any girl in the school, she thought, he didn’t though. He caught her eye and raised his eyebrow questioningly. Hunter shook her head, Tanner raised his other eyebrow. Hunter scowled and nearly pushed him out of the tree.
    “Its not what you think”
    “Or is it?”
    “Tan I swear……”
His eyes were twinkling he took her hand.
“I know, you will beat me up and tell everyone in school…..”
Hunter pulled her hand away but regretted it when she saw the hurt on his face.
    “Sorry I just……”
    “Its okay, just friends, right”
“Please don’t go, I’ll be really lonely” she said as he went to climb down the tree, to herself she said wait don’t go, I love you.
Tanner looked up smiled “I love you too.”
Hunter almost fell out of the tree, but Tanner caught her before she did.
    “How did you?”
“I can, I can see your thoughts”
Her head throbbed, oh I am gonna puke she said to herself
“Okay ill back off sorry. If you think its weird ill just leave” he said backing up and stopping he sighed. “No I just….I’m different too.”
