    PADDOCK MANOR
    FEBRUARY 29TH, 2010

The alarm clock beeped on the bedside table and Selina Paddock slid out of bed. Grinding her teeth at the thought of the first day of school, she stumbled over to the walk-in closet. Taking one look in the mirror at her groggy and unstimulated looking self, she rubbed her eyes and skidded off towards the huge rack of recently bought shirts. Thank god her father was one of the richest men in Clyde Hill!

She chose a pale blue halter top and rushed over to the bottoms rack. She picked out her favorite new pair of pants, which were these amazingly expensive, Low Rise, Embellished Denim Jeans. Then she jumped into the shower.

The steaming water clarified her senses and woke up her mind, so when she got out, her eyes were bright with prospects of Clyde Hill High, her new school! She looked into her full body mirror and realized that she had lost a lot of weight since last year. After all ballet, swimming, and working as a waitress in a diner hadn't been easy, but it sure had been fun. Her six best friends had also worked with her at the diner, three of the girls did ballet with her, and all of them swam together.

She towel dried her body, threw on her clothes, and used a hot iron to straighten her hair to perfection. She then brushed her teeth and put on the locket necklace she had only taken off when she went to bed for the last four years. It had been her Grandmothers. The last touch was the Crystal studded boots.

"Selina," called Alexandra Paddock from the stairs. "Time for breakfast before school!"

"Coming," replied Selina. She picked up her backpack, which had been sitting on her desk completely ready since yesterday and went down the stairs two at a time. On the table was her favorite breakfast: Chocolate chip Pancakes and sausage links!

"Yum, thanks Willamina," she told the cook. The old woman smiled and nodded.

    "Of course, Mistress Selina."

Selina ate her breakfast quickly, careful not to get anything on her clothes and then ran outside. The limo was waiting for her, her driver, Anton, sitting inside. Anton was only twenty five but hadn't finished high school.

"Hey there Anton," said Selina as she got in and fumbled with her purse.

"Morning Mistress Selina," he replied, then put the car in drive. As they drove off down the road, he put on her favorite radio channel. As Pink's voice came up in the car, Anton sang along, badly, with it. Selina giggled and as they arrived at the school he tipped his hat at her and winked. She waved and walked off towards the building.

    CLYDE HILL HIGH
    FEBRUARY 29TH, 2010

The people around were the strangest sight. There were all kinds of kids. Skateboarders, jocks, emo and goths, and of course the dreaded cheerleaders. Thank god I spotted my friends, Cho Kanagawa, A'shara Delare, Nadine King, Beta Kolinsky, Adrianna Kolinsky, and Lily Ludwig.

Cho was decked out from head to toe in Aeropostale. A green Scallop Lace Cami, a Medium Wash Denim Skirt, matching green Flip-Flops, Rainbow Web Belt, and a Lime Flower Enamel Necklace. Talk about your color coordination! Cho never missed a thing.

A'shara was more of a sporty type. She was wearing a ton of Old Navy: a dark pink Twisted-Strap Cami, Pink Mid-Rise Plaid Bermudas, Pink lined gray Suede-Trim Canvas Ballet Flats, and a Cubic Zirconia Pendant.

Nadine was your Girly type, sporting Nordstrom all the way to her closed toe boots. A Roxy 'Can't Wait' Vest over a long purple fleece shirt, white 'Dita Petite' Bootcut Stretch Jeans, and Steve Madden 'Marrvel' Booties.

Beta and Adrianna were grinning identically in bubbly Calvin Klein. Beta in a Dark Gray scoop neck top, Adrianna in a pale gray one, both wearing white tight cropped jeans and Graystone plumere platform sandals.

Lily, the goth of the group, wore a Black And White Plaid Corset Dress with spiderweb fishnets. Her white-blond hair flowed around her with a Skull Feather Mini Hat Hair Clip pulling back her bangs. Fitted onto her feet were Pleaser Black Patent Dancer Heels and a Black Bead Chain Choker hung close to her neck.

The girls smiled at each other and said hey, hugging and swapping gossip about boys and clothes and shopping. Cho had gone to Tokyo to visit her cousins over the last week of summer and her parents had let them go on a major shopping spree! Tokyo fanatic was an awesome clothes brand and Even though Aeropostale was great, she told them, she'd rather have the Japanese brands!

"I went to the lake with the fam," said Lily, not really paying attention since a few hot goth guys were walking by. When the guys passed, she looked back at the rest of the clique and reported that she "Definitely tanned a bit."

"Oh.My.god," exclaimed Beta. Even Adrianna, who's quiet personality was total opposite of her twin, looked mildly surprised. "Look.At.Him!"

She pointed one diamond studded ring holding finger at three skater boys. The one in the middle was Neko Ryaku, the foreign Japanese boy.

"I wonder if I'm related to him," pondered Cho, not getting the point. Beta looked outraged at her lack of sight.

"Hellooooo," she cried. "He is only the hottest boy in the whole school!"

"Peh," replied Lily. Beta looked at the goth girl. "He's alright, but I think Saki-San is the hottest Japanese boy for miles!"

"He's our boss," squealed Nadine, looking up from her French manicure. Saki Ichigi, or Saki-San as they called him, was the owner of the cafe they all worked in.

"So," replied Lily, sniffing snobbishly. Nadine looked horrified and told Lily that she was insane.
