• "What do you think of this?" i said, holding up a grey t-shirt and a ripped jeans.
"it's like everything else you wear," Jessica sighed, "besides, he would like anything you'll wear."
"Oh you shut up, i think I'll wear a vest over the shirt."
"Yeah, that's cute," she said sarcastically, "I have to go. I needa tune my guitar before the concert."
    "Okay, I'll see you later."
After she left, I took a shower and looked at myself in the mirror. My dark brown eyes, and wet hair covered my face like the grudge. As i walked to my room in my towel, I heard my phone ring. I ran into my room and picked it up: "Hello?" i said uncertainly.
"Elena?" said a deep, unsure voice.
    "Who are you?"
    "It's Brandon."
    "Oh! Sorry, What's up?"
"I was wondering if i can pick you up early. Say, half an hour from now?" i looked around the room, then thought for a minute to see if i had time. I was going to put on make-up, but I guess eye shadow and eyeliner is good enough.
"Yeah, okay. Is this your number?"
"Yep, Jess gave me your number." he laughed.
i took a deep breathe and said, "Okay, I'll see you in half an hour."
"Bye," he sighed, "See you then."
i finished dressing up, and tried to fix my hair. i tried a pony tail, then down, but then my mom came in the room. "Oh dear, do you need help?"
i laughed, "Yeah, how should i fix my hair?"
she thought for a second and scoped up and down on my outfit. "Well, you are going to Brandon's concert. Leave it down, honey."
"Okay, thanks Mom." she smiled at me, and walked out the room.
i finished brushing my teeth, and searched the room for at least ten dollars for dinner. I look at my clock and noticed i was ten minutes early. i laid down for a minute, but then I heard a honk from the street. i looked outside and saw Brandon in his car. I smiled and ran down the stairs. "He's here already?"
"Yeah, I'll see you later Mom! Love you!"
i fixed my hair right before i walked outside, and when i opened the door he was there. He wore a brown t-shirt and black skinny jeans, his spiked hair messier then usual.
"Hi." he said with a shy smile.
"Hey." I said with my head down. I put my hands in my pockets and walked to his car, then he took my arm and said, "Wait, we're not going yet." i looked at him and smiled, even though i had no idea what he meant. "Okay?" i said confused. while I took my hands out of my pocket he let go, and took my hand. i looked at it for a second, then realize it was really happening. We walked in silence until the rest of the band came to my house.

    At The Concert
"Are you gonna be okay back here?" Jessica asked before she got onstage.
"Yeah, I'll be fine. Good luck out there!" I exclaimed.
She smiled at me and said, "Okay. See you later." Then she ran to the stage.
I listened to the intro of the song, listening to Brandon's smooth guitar solo, then Jessica's surprising guitar strum. Brandon's voice was soft, but strong enough for their music. His electric guitar was shading red into black, Jessica's pink fading to purple. The bass player, Jonny, and Daniel, the drummer, just rocked out like no one was watching. The sound was breathe taking, and with the last G note fading out, I knew the song was over.
"Thank you!!! The next song is a cover for my friend tonight. Elena, come here." My face burned red, as Jessica came running to me, and pulled me to the stage. "Don't worry, you know this song." she said, smiling leaving me there next to Brandon.
"You like Incubus, right?" he whispered.
    "Yeah, why?"
"Here we go, Drive by Incubus!" He yelled to the crowd. Jessica began the intro, as Brandon sat on a stool next to me. He whispered to me, "Sing with me." Jonny ran next to me and gave me a microphone, and ran off stage. As Brandon sang the verse, i started at the chorus. What ever tomorrow brings, I'll be there. . . Then i noticed he began harmonizing with me. Our voices sounded so enchanting together, so it seemed. i looked at him and saw his black eyes shining at me. As the song began to fade out, we continued to look at each other with such amazement. As the crowd started to cheer for us, i looked and saw how blinding the spotlight was. Brandon took my hand a second time and we all took a bow.

After the concert Brandon took me to an ice cream shop while the rest of the band drove home in the van. As we walked in i asked Brandon, "Isn't it a little too cold for ice cream?" he laughed at me and said, "it's never too cold for ice cream." i looked over the counter and couldn't decide what to get. "One regular strawberry ice cream, with m&ms on top." he said, as so he always got that. "And for you?" the lady asked nicely. "um. . . I think I'll get a small cookies and cream with sprinkles, please." As she gave me and Brandon our ice cream, i took out my five dollars i found under my bed. Brandon took out his wallet and said, "Don't worry, I got it." I still put the five on the counter, but he gave it back to me. We sat down and ate our ice cream in silence, then we both stood up and walked to the car. "So how'd you like the concert?" he asked.
"It was amazing! The ending cover was surprising though." i admitted.
"Well you did say you used to be in a cover band."
"Yeah, how did you know Drive is my favorite song?"
"You seemed pretty mad about the Incubus tickets." he laughed.
    "Oh."
    "You sing beautifully."
"Thanks, you too." i said shyly, feeling my face burn up.
