“Let’s go down to the club,” Mark told me after we finished our forty-eighth dance recital.
“We’ve been dancing since we were three, one dance recital a season, let’s wait two more seasons then go to the club.” I told him.
“Zach, we need to get out there and live. We’re fifteen and haven’t ever been on dates.” Mark groaned.
“You go; I’m just going to practice a little more.” I told him. Mark ignored my response and dragged me to the door.
“We are going.” He said. I laughed and followed him down the street to the club. He paid for the two of us to get in, and we went inside. I immediately noticed the group at the corner dancing.
“Forget about ballet, and try some hip hop,” Mark said punching my shoulder.
I finally agreed and moved to the beat. I kept watching that group at the corner.
“Come on Sarah, you’re the best dancer,” I heard one of them say. At first I thought the Sarah person would have been an ugly guy, but turns out that the person was a super hot girl that I was immediately crushing on.
“You know, they go to the Frince Academy, they’re all rich kids.” Mark said seeing where I was looking. I nodded and decided to leave.
“I’m heading home; it’s been a long day.” I told Mark. The song changed to something by Ke$ha and I watched that whole group in the corner start walking towards the exit.
“Good luck getting through that group, I’ll see you tomorrow at Glee club.” Mark said laughing. Sarah brushed past me and dropped her purse.
“Sorry, Luke go start the car, I’ll be out in a minute” She told one of the guys. All of the people she was with left her then.
“You dropped this,” I said giving her back her purse.
“Thanks… you’re kind of cute,” She whispered. She grabbed her purse and handed me a slip of paper. Quickly she left the club with the rest of her friends. I didn’t know until the next morning that the piece of paper she handed me had her phone number on it.

He hadn’t called yet. It had been six days, and he hadn’t called. I continued to wait, but I knew I couldn’t wait much longer.
“Luke, we’re going to be late to school if you don’t hurry up.” I yelled up the stairs to where my older brother was getting ready for school.
“I’m coming Sarah,” He yelled at me. I chuckled and grabbed my school books. Quickly I put some waffles in the toaster and waited for Luke. Luke ran down the stairs.
“Have you seen my car keys?” He asked me.
“Sitting on the counter, get the waffles I’ll grab the keys.” I told him. He nodded and grabbed the waffles. I grabbed his car keys and my house key.
“I have Glee club today, then after that I have dance lessons. I’m getting a ride from Kara.” I told him after we got into the car.
“Ok, so do you want me to pick you up after ballet?” He asked me.
    “No,” I replied.
“I’m going to pick you up anyways,” He whispered.
“Fine, pick me up from the club though. I’ll need to get back into my hip hop type mood before school tomorrow.” I told him.
“Ok, I’ll pick you up at seven at the club.” He said laughing. I loved the morning rides to school. They were always fun.
“Good,” I smiled. He punched my arm and smiled. “Keep your eyes on the road,” I screamed. He snapped back to looking at the road. I giggled as he pulled into the school’s parking lot.
“Let me out over by the field,” I said.
    “Cheerleading practice,” Luke asked.
“Yep I have to take the cheer captain’s place because she broke her leg.” I told him.
    “No way,” He gasped laughing.
“From what I heard, it was a member on the football teams fault,” I said again.
“That member’s name was Luke Lund.” He said.
“So it’s your fault that I have to join the cheer squad, kill me now.” I punched him and got out of the car.
“Good luck Sarah,” He said. I nodded and got on to the football field with the rest of the cheer squad. Everyone was in sweats and tank tops. We all did some stretches, and then practiced a routine. As soon as the squad decided to quit, we all got into our school uniforms and quickly got to class. The bell rang as soon as I sat down in class. My phone buzzed in my pocket. I pulled it out and knew who it was who sent me the text. It was the boy I had met at the club six days ago. I put my phone away and waited for the day to end.

The bell rang and I went to glee club. Mark and I talked about dance like normal while everyone else argued about what we would be singing when we were supposed to compete against Frince academy. As soon as we were dismissed Mark and I ran to his car so we would be on time to dance class. Supposedly we we’re supposed to perform in Jewels this season, and everyone in the advanced class was excited if that was going to be true.
“We should go to the club tonight,” Mark was saying.
    “We have homework,” I replied.
“We all know that you want to see that girl again,” He said laughing. “I mean you do want to see that girl again don’t you?” He asked being serious again.
“Maybe I do, maybe I don’t. Anyways we have to go to Christopher’s football game tonight.” I told him.
“I always forget about Chris’s games, we can miss this one.” Mark replied.
“Christopher is my ride home,” I laughed.
“Ok, so I guess we can’t miss the game,” Mark laughed. I looked at the clock and knew that we were late. Mark pulled into the parking lot and quickly grabbed his dance bag.
“Katrina is so going to kill me,” He muttered. I chuckled and got out of the car after grabbing my dance bag. We ran inside to get changed for class.
“You two are late again,” Katrina said before we could go change.
“Blame Mark, and tell Mrs. Shortz that we’ll be there in just a second.” I told her. She nodded and continued her stretching. Mark and I ran to change before we were any later.
After dance, Mark and I grabbed our things and headed back to the school. The game had already began I sat down in the stadium where the rest of our friends were. Katrina and Mark followed. I was watching one of the cheerleaders from the visiting team; she seemed familiar, too familiar.
“Mark who are we playing today?” I asked him not looking away from the cheerleader.
“Frince,” He said pulling away from kissing Katrina. He saw where I was looking.
“There’s no way, that can’t be her,” He said.
“Who can’t be her?” Katrina asked.
“The girl Zach likes, he thinks she’s that cheerleader down there.” Mark said.
“I thought you said she wasn’t a cheerleader.” Katrina said annoyed. “Anyways, she’s from the Frince academy.” I ignored what she said. I knew that I had to talk to that girl after the game.
“Dude, we always win when you guys don’t come, you and Mark have to quit coming.” Christopher said after the game.
“I think that I’m crushing on the head cheerleader from the Frince academy.” I told him.
“Woa, you like Sarah Lund. That’s not good dude, she lives with her older brother Luke, and he is super protective of her.” He told me.
“Talk with the team quickly; I want to try to talk to her.” I told him.
    “Good luck,” He whispered.
I bumped into the cheerleader I wanted to talk to.
    “Sorry,” I told her.
“Its fine, my name is Sarah.” She said.
“Zach, I think we’ve actually met before though.” I told her.
“How would that have happened, unless we’ve met at the club,” She said.
“About a week ago, probably after my dance recital,” I told her.
“Sarah, we have to get home. Dad just called and said he’s in town.” A guy yelled at her.
“I have to go,” She said. She quickly took my arm and a sharpie. After she had left, I realized that what she had written on my arm was her phone number. Christopher was standing alone waiting for me.
“What did you say her name was?” I asked him while we walked to his car.
“Sarah Lund, why are you guys getting together later?” He asked me.
“No, she gave me her phone number though.” I laughed.
“Great, call her up later.” Christopher said starting the car.
    “Will do,” I chuckled.
Christopher dropped me off at home, immediately my mother was saying dinner was served and that I had to get my homework done. I quickly ate dinner and called Sarah. She didn’t answer. I did my homework, and tried to call her again. She didn’t answer. I gave up on calling her and went to bed.

I got home from the football game and immediately ate dinner.
“Daddy’s home!” My father yelled coming inside.
“Dad, don’t, we’re teenagers now.” Luke yelled. I put my dirty dishes in the dish washer and went up to my room to finish my homework.
“You shouldn’t hide while I have to deal with our father,” Luke said coming into my room.
“Yes I should, he hates me.” I muttered.
“Fine,” He growled. I smiled and finished my homework. Luke left my room, and disappeared somewhere in the house.
The next morning I woke up, I saw that I had three voicemails, seven text messages, and five missed calls. They were all from the same person. I listened to the voicemails. I quickly sent Zach a text to respond to all his texts and phone calls. I had to get him to leave me alone for awhile.
“Sarah, you’re going to be late if you’re not careful.” My father yelled up the stairs. Luke entered my room.
“Dad is getting on my nerves.” He groaned.
“Luke, learn to knock.” I yelled at him. He laughed and knocked on the wall.
“Hey Sarah, can I come in?” He asked.
“No,” I yelled at him. He ran down the hall to his room. I changed into my uniform and braided my hair. Time was of the essence, so I grabbed my school books and kicked Luke’s bedroom door. He left his room and we headed downstairs. We slid past the kitchen where our father was and got into Luke’s car.
“Drive,” I yelled when our father came outside. Luke didn’t hesitate and we left the house.
We got to the school, and I quickly ran to where the rest of the cheerleader’s where supposed to meet. We did some stretches and practiced some cheers. Around seven the cheer squad split and got into school uniforms like we were supposed to. Shortly after cheer practice ended, I ran into the rest of the glee club. They were debating about who was better, Ke$ha or Britney Spears.
“Obviously, it’s Ke$ha that’s the best.” Kari said.
“Never, it’s totally Britney,” Nickolas grumbled.
“It’s a tie between the two, Britney is totally awesome, but so is Ke$ha.” I told them all.
“Anyone know what songs we’re singing in glee?” Addison asked.
“From what I heard, we might be singing We R Who We R by Ke$ha and that we might also be singing What Makes You Beautiful by One Direction.” Liam said walking up.
    “Good song choices,” I said.
“Agreed,” Addison replied. We all walked inside the school. The first school bell rang and I grabbed my things from my locker so I could get to class on time.
Glee club was dismissed. I met with Ashley and we left for our dance lessons. We got into the dance studio, and immediately changed into our leotards and tights. I put on my ballet slippers, and then pulled my hair up. Ashley was quickly stretching before we did some of our normal stretches. We went into the dance studio and started our normal warm ups. I started by working on triple pirouette that was essential for part of our next performance. Ashley was practicing on her grand Jeté. Our dance instructor entered the studio, and watched us for a bit.
“Sarah, tighten up your shoulders, Ashley adjust your footing position.” She said. Ashley smiled and tried to perform a triple pirouette.
“Don’t forget to spot Ash,” I said. She tried again remembering to spot this time.
“Girls, we need to talk about the winter ballet,” Mrs. Kant said.
“It’s the Nutcracker again isn’t it?” Ashley asked.
“Yes, but we need to talk about who’s dancing what part,” She said. “I know you both want to perform the Sugar Plum Fairy, but one of you has to dance the Dew Drop.”
“I don’t know the Dew Drop well, but I have learned the Sugar Plum Fairy.” Ashley said.
“There we go; Sarah is the Dew Drop then.” Mrs. Kant said. I muttered under my breath and nodded. I knew I had to learn an entire different dance than what I already knew, but I knew most of the dance already.
“Though Ashley, we’re putting this show on twice, so you could each dance each part once.” Mrs. Kant said.
“That’s a wonderful idea,” I said smiling. How sweet revenge was.
“Great, start learning both dances girls,” Mrs. Kant said leaving the room.
“I’m going to kill you,” Ashley muttered.
“Don’t kill me until after the performance.” I told her. She glared and started practicing the Dew Drop’s dance. We had been dancing for an hour or so when my phone went off. I quit practicing and ran to check it. It was yet another message from Zach. My phone went off again. I quickly answered the phone.
“Zach, if you haven’t gotten it yet, I do have a life.” I told him.
“I wanted to talk before I had to eat dinner and do my homework.” He said.
“I’m at my ballet lessons, I’ll talk later.” I said.
“Yes you will Sarah,” Mrs. Kant said right behind me. She took my phone and hung up.
“It’s just some guy that’s been trying to talk to me non-stop for a week.” I told her. My phone went off again, and she looked at the number on the screen.
“We won’t talk about it for now,” She said. She handed me my phone back. “Lesson is over for now.” She left after telling Ashley and I to lock up.
“I wonder what that was all about,” Ashley said.
“She seemed to know the phone number.” I said. Ashley gave me a ride home where I quickly finished my homework and ate some soup before going to bed. I hoped that Zach would quit calling me, but who was I kidding. As soon as I turned my phone off for the night though, I fell fast asleep. Nothing would wake me up.
