• The spirit portal was bright, brighter than expected, it nearly blinded the Engineer as she closed her eyes from the bright sequence. When her eyes reopened a serene field of green appeared before her.

“So what do you think?” Korra asked over, hand-in-hand, a smile soft on her lips.

“Wow Korra! Its beautiful…” The Engineer spoke in a moment of stunned silence as she took the scene in. Hands locked together Korra pulled her along, keeping little distance between them. “come on then! there’s so much more to see- I can’t wait to show you- “ she called excitedly, nearly trembling with excitement to the point where she couldn’t even contain it.

here they were, together, alone. well, close to it. In the spirt world with vast opportunities awaiting them. What more could she ask for?

walking down near a riverbank surrounded by all different kinds of spirits, they stopped to observe the peaceful creatures as they went about their daily lives. “haha- hey little guy!” Asami laughed as one bounced its way over, sniffing at her clothes curiously. She bent down, and with a gentle hand lightly stroked it between its ears, the creature happily indulged in its time with her; allowing her to continue for a few moments until being spooked away into the nearby bushes.

Korra watched in silence as the scene rolled by, all too happily keeping as quiet as possible, but before long footsteps could be heard behind, and caused her to instantly react with tension eyes flashing towards the footsteps and body instantly reacting to shield Asami from what ever might be lurking.

“ Ah, I thought I heard something out of the ordinary.” an old rasped voice could be heard and the Avatar’s blue hues instantly sparkled with relief. “Iroh!” she called out as the man in robes appeared, gentle and carefree as he held a tea cup in hand, lightly blowing on it as the steam eased. “Hello Korra, Its good to see that you’re well. “ the fire bender responded to her with a smile in greeting. “who is this though? I don’t think we’ve met before…” he asked quizzically, looking at the Ravenette standing next to her with a surprised look. “Oh! uh- this is Asami- since we’ve had some down time we decided to vacation in the Spirit World… haha…”

Asami gave a shy blush to her reaction and bowed respectfully to the older man. “Its a pleasure to meet you sir…i’m sorry to intrude, I have always been interested in spirits so I was hoping to see the Spirit World one day…Korra said it was okay - so …”

“so here you are?” he finished her sentence, looking over the two with a thoughtful nod. “Its okay, after all i’m a guest as well, we all are. the spirit world isn’t a place for people who don’t wish to accept it, be kind to its generosity and it’ll be kind to you.” he mentioned matter-of-factly, “Now, i’ll leave you to enjoy yourselves for now- however, do stop by later Korra. I’d like to share some words with you over tea.”

“ah, sure thing -“ Korra started, but before she could finish Iroh was on his way again humming a soft lullaby to himself. “leaves from the vine…falling so slow, like fragile tiny shells, drifting in the foam, little soldier boy..come marching home…brave soldier boy, comes marching home. . .” The gentle humming could be heard as the shadow drifted on, letting Korra take in the moment of peace in full, before moving on. “come on Asami there’s so much more to see-“
