• Over a mystical blue-green lagoon
Is a clear, starry night sky
    Full of bright lit candles
Twinkling and sparkling over the darkness
    Of the night sky
Fireflies dance as the light up
    The Earth below them
    As the children sleep
    Dreaming about what tomorrow
    Might bestow them
While their mothers sleep in comfort
    Knowing they are safe
In the safety of the forest
With the trees looking over them
    A horse with elegant wings
And a long silver horn to go with it
    Flies gracefully over blue bay
    As its mane and tail
Tries to catch the stars above
A shooting star is following her trail
As the horse carries it across the sky
Children who see the shooting star make a wish
The wish to see the guardians of the night
One of them is called the mare of the night
Legend says she’s the guardian of the night sky
She guides the moon and shooting stars across the sky
And brings dreams to people who are sleeping
Her coat is white as snow
    And soft as wool
Her wings look like those of an angel or a white dove
Her mane and tail are a bright yellow-like color
    Almost like the stars
Her eyes are dark blue with little star in each one
Her hooves are black as coal
She and her son light the candles at night
Her son’s horn guides people in the night
As it glows in the night
As he waits for his mother to be done with her work
    And watches her carefully
For one day he’ll being taking her place as a night guardian
    As the morning of dawn
She and her son blow out the candles
And retreat to their castle in the sky
Where the guardians of the sky live
As well as the sky painters
    And their care takers
The mare and her son are cleaned
After that they eat until they are full
They eat golden apples and carrots
As well as star and moon dust cubes
Then they rest there until it’s time
To go out and light the candles once more
And watch over the Earth and all who live there
As they bring dreams those who are sleeping once more
