• I slit open my chest and showed you my heart
In my shame and fear, I wonder if you'll depart
Like a river my love runs forever more
It is deeper than the deepest ocean floor

Like a child afraid to jump into Daddy's arms
I debate if you'll reject my poetic charms
I am a poet with words expressed from my soul
I drained them from my heart leaving a hole

I stripped myself bear exposing my secrets
    Revealing both successes and regrets
I am vulnerable to the core of my being
Wondering if you'll accept all you are seeing

I love you, though you are not mine
I offer my body and soul for you to decline
