HE CALLS
by UC Poika
He calls most every day it seems at least
And being a mindless creature he must be
Of a kind whose thoughts of her have never ceased
In spite of the fact he must prove himself trusty
Lest his fiancee leave him alter bound
Without a bride to share the blessed event
Should the white gown be stained or even browned
Because such conduct seemed a bit indecent
I fear for him! I beg of him! I plead!
Take care young man for the heart you break might be
The source of remorse that leaves your soul to bleed
And serves alas to set both women free
The one who would have worn your family name
And the one whose love I wish that I alone could claim!
