• Allow me to put a few souls to rest,
Curled up tightly inside my chest.
    Perhaps it would be best,
To free these souls unto eternal rest.

For they know that Heaven is close by,
And getting in is what they are bound to try.
Growing golden wings way up high,
    Quickly learning how to fly.

When the Bells of Saint Peter chime,
Those lost souls shall know its time.
To return to the Earthly plane,
To be given a new humanly name.

They shall live their lives anew,
    Underneath the skies of blue.
Until they find their way back to me,
Their hearts shall be filled with glee.

I bid them farewell as they give me a lift,
A new life perspective as a treasured gift.
I know I’ll see them again someday,
Since we’ve been with each other all this way.

They are my love, hope, and cheer,
    They make smile, dream, fear.
They are the light in my life,
They are the darkness in my soul.

They put an edge in my style,
I know they are there all the while.
I love these souls with all of my heart,
It hurts knowing we must now part.

I knew in my soul that this day would come,
When I would release them into the Heavenly sun.
    Goodbye my invisible friends,
Know that our friendship knows no ends
    .
