The End
I sit here watching the clock
Hoping for sorrow's end
Every loss brings the shock
Cautiousness they did not tend
Time is passing us by
And we're losing the ones we love
All we can do is watch them die
Peers giving them a little shove
I miss back when life was filled with ease
Now people are dying too young
When no one needed to appease
Hospitalized with an iron lung.
Mothers lose their daughters and sons
Now they're six feet under
Due to all the careless ones
They're in an endless slumber
Relative loss between all
At the funeral you hear them say,
"It was so hard to watch them fall.
They were here with us just the other day."
Pain and fear cloud our reality
That's something we cannot mend
We live in fear of our own mortality
Because someday everything will end.
