This is the number of planets in this universe which we KNOW support life, because this is the planet we live on. This planet is known as Earth, and it is populated by a race of creatures known as Humans. These Humans, are us, and as of now, this is the one and ONLY species on record capable of endless cruelty, unprovoked war and conflict. Thats US.
Even though some of us understand these facts, there are still others who have the NERVE to believe we are the center of the universe. There are people who believe that we are the only "intelligent" species that lives out here in the vastness of the Void. Those people, are truely ignorant. Those people are the bane of our so-called civilization, if you can call us civilized.
My greatest wish, is that when we finally do meet an alien species, they set us straight, not destroy us but simply say, "What the Hell are you doing?! Who the Hell do you think you are?!"
I know that even after reading this, the few of my friends who don't believe in intelligent life off this planet, probably still won't believe in intelligent life other than ourselves, if you can call us intelligent. But I ask of ALL OF YOU non-believers, go outside, look up at the night sky and think for a minute, just think, someone up there may be looking back.
