Making Up
Fandom: xxxHolic
Pairing: Watanuki x Doumeki
Rating: PG-ish???
Notes: I do not claim these characters, they belong to CLAMP! This is my first EVER fan fiction for any fandom. Some spoilers. This is loosely based on my upcoming fancomic. While in my fancomic the original fight is in a previous chapter, I didn't really want to write it out here, so I kind of hinted as to what it was about..

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

"You look depressed, Watanuki-kun. Have you slept?"

"What?"

"It's been almost a week since you've talked to Doumeki-kun. Did you get into a fight?"

"Kind of," he simply replied, wondering how he could actually get in a fight with a man that rarely ever finished his sentences.

"Do you miss him?"

"What no! How could I miss a jerk like that!" And with that, Watanuki had gone into a long speech about all the random things he said he hated about Doumeki, whether they be valid or not, then finally he asked Himawari, "What would make you think that?"

She pointed at the bento boxes he had been carrying with him that day and said, "You still make three bentos everyday."

Watanuki blushed. He thought a minute about how to respond to what she had said, and probably couldn't help but sound ridiculous anyway, "Well, I still owe him for a lot of things, I thought maybe he'd at least come at take it at lunch. But he seems to be avoiding me like the plague. And good riddance to him too! Now that I can spend time with Himawari-chan!"

Himawari didn't seem to hear a word he was saying, because less than halfway through his little speech, a friend had come up to her and they were already deep in conversation. His fanboying over Himawari had seemed to go unnoticed.

After the school day had ended, Watanuki and Himawari began their walk. It was silent most of the way, and slightly awkward, but finally Himawari broke the silence, "Are you sure you don't miss him?"

"Why would I!" Watanuki exclaimed, going off on yet another rant.

"Well," she pointed behind him, and sure enough, they were right in front of the shrine where Doumeki lived. The shrine wasn't exactly on the way to Yuuko's shop, and he really hadn't needed to come by this way, but why had he?

He looked back at Himawari, not able to come up with some sort of excuse, all he said was, "Um..."

"I knew you missed him! Watanuki-kun and Doumeki-kun are such good friends!" Himawari exclaimed.

Even though she was just so cute, Watanuki could not get over the fact that she was so wrong, "We are NOT friends!"

Himawari seemed to ignore that outburst, and moved on to say, "You know, you should really tell him how you feel."

"About what?" Watanuki asked.

"You two seem to have a lot to talk about, I will leave you two alone," Himawari said with a smile and a wave.

"What?"

Watanuki turned around, and sure enough Doumeki was standing at they gate of his shrine, that same expressionless look on his face as always. But even with the same even face, Watanuki could tell that the taller boy was irritated, and probably angry.
He stared at the archer for a moment, not sure what to say.

"Why are you here?" Doumeki asked in an even tone. How could he sound so calm at this moment? And Watanuki still had not come up with that excuse yet.

"I was just on my way to Yuuko's, and I stopped to drop this bento off," he said, handing the box left over from lunch to Doumeki. The boy nodded, taking the box. He didn't believe Watanuki, as usual.

"Is it true?"

"Is what true?"

"You missed me?"

Watanuki looked away to hide his blush, "I did NOT miss you."

"Oh."

A smirk found it's way on to the archer's face, he obviously did not believe Watanuki, and as if they were still on the conversation from a week ago he finally said what he had wanted to to Watanuki, "I am not interested in Kunogi."

"What? Then who?"

"Moron," Was all Doumeki said, as he turned around to walk back to his chores.

"Wait."

"Hnn?"

Doumeki turned back around, and their gazes met. They stared for a few minutes, as if sending some sort of telepathic messages back and forth to each other.

It was Doumeki that finally broke the silence, "I want Inari sushi for lunch tomorrow."

The expression on Watanuki's face changed from bewilderment to anger.

"Idiot! I DO NOT DO REQUESTS!"

As routine, Doumeki's fingers were already in his ears, and a smirk on his face. Things were back to normal again, after a week. It had taken a week, and he hadn't had to do anything, except give Himawari a nudge in the right direction.

"You want me to answer that question now?"

The sudden question caught Watanuki off guard, and he realized he had no idea what Doumeki was talking about.

"What question?"

"You asked me who I was interested in."

Watanuki blushed again, then finally began yelling, " I DON'T CARE WHO YOU'RE INT-" He stopped mid sentence, looking at Doumeki.

"Stop looking at me like that. You're creeping me out."

"Sorry."

"You better be!" Watanuki yelled, followed by a deep sigh. He looked at the ground, suddenly feeling very awkward, and still blushing. He felt a hand on his shoulder, and he dared not turn around, knowing Doumeki's face would only be inches away from his head. He could even feel the archer's breath on the back of his head. A chill went down his spine, and he could feel his heart quickening it's pace. How could just a touch from Doumeki leave Watanuki in a complete mess?

Before he realized it, the other boy's arms had encircled him, hugging him from behind. He was glad Doumeki could not see his face right now, because it felt so hot, and he was sure he looked like he could be related to a tomato.

"D-DOumeki, What are you doing?"

"Hugging you."

"I can see that! But..."

"Don't ask stupid questions."

Watanuki squirmed in Doumeki's grasp, and the taller boy finally let go.

"Kunogi said we needed to talk."

Watanuki nodded, she had said that but, "There's nothing to talk about. We already talked."

"Do you hate me?"

"What?" Watanuki sat down, and only seconds later Doumeki did the same.

"Do you hate me?" the archer repeated.

Watanuki shook his head. His hand now reaching for his right eye; Doumeki's eye. Doumeki removed Watanuki's hand, caressing the smaller boy's check, and turning his chin to look up at Doumeki. Watanuki was unprepared for the kiss, his eyes growing wide on impact. He tried to protest, but Doumeki's tongue was already in his mouth. Watanuki relaxed and gave in. He couldn't be enjoying this! No, this was DOUMEKI! Why would he enjoy a kiss from Doumeki!? Slowly, his eyes closed, and he could feel himself shyly meeting the archer. What had come over him?
