The unicorn would not slow down nor turn back. Fretful tears fell from her eyes as she vainly tried to stop him from going towards the road. She looked to her side. They were going too fast for her to jump free of him safely. Like a slap across the face, the heat of the sun hit her as the unicorn cleared the forest and turned onto the open path. The terror that she was running from was near. She could feel her skin prickle, sensing the hunter aproaching, nearing ever closer to her, it's prey. The sun light abated suddenly and darkness filled her vision. Unbidden she screamed as horrors filled her mind. Death and darkness was closing in and their was no where to go. She could hear the moanings of all the others that thing had devoured. It was a slave of it's master; a master who lived amidst death, and whose evil thoughts she shared whenever his servant was near. But this time was different than before. This time there was a point of light to look towards, and hum of reassurace and peace. This time is was not complete blindness. She fixed her soul upon that light, drawing from all her power to just get a step closer. The darkness was fighting to subdue the light, but even that small pin p***k, that gave her hope, refused to go out.
