Katrina gasped as she entered history class. Quickly she leapt back into the hall. First homeroom, then second period math and now history. And she had a presentation to do. I should have just stayed home. "Hey Kat, what's up? You ready for our presentation?" Erin wrapped her arm around Katrina's shoulders. "No I am not ready!" she burst out with frustration. "Woah! What's wrong?" June asked coming up to Erin who looked shocked. Katrina closed her eyes wishing that when she opened them she'd be in bed, but she knew that wasn't going to work. She took a few calming breaths then opened her eyes to June and Erin staring at her with concern. "Okay," she said pulling them to the side, and out of ear shot. "You know that guy Gallin?" "The cute new guy?" Erin asked. "Yay, him. Well he was in my homeroom and math class and now he's in history." Katrina continued in a tense whisper. "Ooooh, he's in all your classes," Erin snickered. "Well at least up to third period history," June clarified. "Well he's bugging the heck out of me," Katrina continued. "He just keeps smiling at me and trying to start conversations, and I can't keep my head around him. I get flustered and scatter-brained. It took me twenty-minutes to do a simple math problem in class. I've been distracted all day because of him. I can't do this presentation, not with him staring at me......I need a paper bag." Katrina ended her stream of words gasping for breath and pulling at her hair out of frustration. All jokes were laid aside as Erin and June enveloped her in a hug. "Katrina, I think you're in love with him." June calmly pointed out. "You're describing all the signs." "Yeah," Erin agreed, "but the good news is that it looks like he at least likes you and maybe more than that. He might like, like you, or even like, love you. It would be amazing if he love, loved you, but I think we're too young to love, love someone, don't you agree Kat?" Erin smiled. Katrina smiled back, glad to have good friends like these. "Thanks guys," Katrina said. June and Erin hugged her again in response. "But what am I going to do about the presentation? I'll loose my concentration everytime he looks at me, which is all the time." "Don't worry," June assured her, "I think I have an idea."
