I really need to spend less time at movie theaters...
OK, so I had no idea what this movie was when I arrived at the theater, so I was pretty much just going along for the ride.
Overall, I liked the movie. It's about a guy (Will Smith) who thinks that he is the last man alive in Manhatten (and the world). He lives with his dog, Sam, and he spends most of his time trying to find a cure for the disease (which came about because some woman found the cure for cancer) which turned most of the people in the world into rabid monsters.
The pros: The action was great, and the plot twists were fairly original for once. I also liked how the dog was one of the main characters 3nodding Although the tone of the movie was serious, the comic relief was hilarious. In the beginning, Will Smith's character is so isolated that he has conversations (serious) with mannequins... it's great.
Now for the cons: At the beginning when Will Smith is hunting a deer, the jumpy camera angles almost gave me a headache. That eventually stopped, which only made me take away one point instead of two. Also, the whole "infectious disease makes people go crazy and eat other people" plotline is a bit over-used, so I took away a point for that. And, at the beginning, the backgrounds looked really fake, so minus one.
Overall rating: 7/10.
Basically, go see it in theaters if the occasion arises; it's a great way to pass an hour and a half or so.
