What is Jigsaw?
Jigsaw is a series of medieval fantasy novels and short stories, mostly taking place in a kingdom called Jigsaw. Most of the stories revolve around a set of eight characters and their various adventures, but some stories chronicle the lives of other unrelated characters.
What is the world of Jigsaw like?
Jigsaw is a magical world that exists depedent on a delicate balance between good and evil. Most of its people live in a condition similar to our medieval Europe, but with both traditional concepts of magic and mythical creatures and some interesting original ones.
The people of Jigsaw worship a pantheon of gods, the most powerful of which is the goddess Sofia, who is said to have created the world. Although many legends of the world's creation exists, the most popular one states that Jigsaw is a "second attempt," of sorts. The original world was reset using the combined powers of eight gods called the Sofiides when they noticed magic beginning to decline. Unwilling to intervene but disappointed with the Sofiides' actions, Sofia turned the eight gods into stars as punishment, where they can be seen in the night sky all year round. But is this legend really true, or are other forces at work behind the world's existence?
What the people of Jigsaw do know is that their world exists between Celesta, a plane of blinding good, and Miasma, a plane of pure evil. It's said that if good and evil ever are out of balance, either Celesta will fall or Miasma will rise, supposedly destroying the world.
What kind of people live in Jigsaw?
You'll see a lot of familiar creatures. Of course, there are humans, elves, orcs, dwarves, and other familiar fantasy races. Demons and angels, and other creatures embodying good and evil, also exist to keep the balance in check, both with unique cultures of their own. You'll also see plenty of unique creatures and races, and some familiar fantasy creatures presented in a new light.
What is the geography of Jigsaw?
The kingdom of Jigsaw is a mostly temperate environment, with the same four seasons we have. In the north, things are cooler, and in the extreme south, the forests turn to dangerous, sweltering jungles. In the western part of the kingdom beyond the Silver Mountain range is the beginning of the desert that comprises most of the nearby kingdom of Icyl.

Who are the main characters?
Jigsaw has a wide cast of characters, but the action revolves around eight companions as they join together to save the kingdom:
Tione Larion:
Race: Human
Age: 19
Birthplace: Sheste
Home: None
Tione grew up an ordinary girl in the ordinary, remote village of Sheste. Fortunately, in Jigsaw ordinary girls never stay ordinary for very long, and before long her mysterious great-grandmother sends her on a quest to discover her roots and save the kingdom. Tione, while inexperienced, is independent, witty and intuitive with a gift for strategy. She has a tendency to be overbearing and impatient, but also has a strong sense of justice.
Aleric Iu Duno:
Race: Human
Age: 22
Birthplace: Florda
Home: None
Aleric is a dashing, flirtatious freelance hero who happens upon Tione by accident one day. Finding he's destined to join Tione on a quest to save the kingdom, this is Aleric's chance to prove himself to be a real hero and redeem himself from his past failures. Aleric is optimistic, good natured and forgiving, if naive.
Geddon ni Mayla Shynne de Sela:
Race: Elf
Age: 97 (appears 19)
Birthplace: Sela
Home: Sela
In disguise, Geddon, the elven prince of the kingdom, fled the palace to find a cure for his ailing father and found himself caught up in Tione's quest. Geddon may be proficient in magic, but he's incredibly shy.
Shani Noma:
Race: Human
Age: 15
Birthplace: Cognito
Home: Sela
Always at Geddon side, Shani is the prince's apprentice in magic. Despite this, Shani is more calm and confident than Geddon, and even though he's just fifteen, his love of books and knowledge makes him the best source of knowledge at the situation at hand.
Kao-xe'kale Jallen:
Race: Demon
Age: 115 (appears 23)
Birthplace: Deep
Home: Kelorin
Kao-xe'kale Jallen, or Kao for short, is a flippant, prurient demon with a secret tragic past who became a demon after being expelled from Sela's Magic Academy. Kao is easily one of the more powerful members of the group, being adept in combat and a master of magic of many kinds.
Even though Kao clearly has some kind of tragedy in his past, he usually remains cheerful, but his tendency to make inappropriate remarks makes him hard to get close to.
Xerei-xe'kale Jallen:
Race: Elf
Age: 122 (appears 24)
Birthplace: Deep
Home: Sela
Xerei is Kao's elven brother-- his much more serious, brooding brother. Despite the fact that Xerei has had very few hardships to deal with in life, Xerei is pessimistic and what little humor he has in his heart is dry and bitter. Even so, he is a tender person with a deep loyalty to his friends.
Off White:
Race: Human
Age: 23
Birthplace: Nai
Home: Cottage of the 77 Dwarves
You've probably heard of Snow White and Rose Red. Off White is their middle sister. Not the prettiest, or the second prettiest, but the third prettiest woman in the kingdom. She used to be as bright as her red hair, but something has turned her bitter and cold. Perhaps, while journeying with Tione and company, she'll find something that she lost three years ago...
Katrina Katarina:
Race: Angel
Age: 99 (appears 18 )
Birthplace: Two Tomes
Home: Bryce Kyndrel's estate
Even though Katrina is cheerful and kind-- and a member of the angel race, she hides a cruel curse: she has been turned into a tool of revenge for a witch, falling in love with man after man and driving them mad. When Katrina falls for Geddon, she genuinely feels attraction to him and decides to break her curse for the good of them both. However, she remains hopeful and is always ready with cheerful words of hope or a healing spell.
