Last night, I had a dream that caused me to wake up at 3am to check my phone...

The dream started with me being online and on RO...
Natalie and I were talking in-game, and she starts going on about how much she's fallen for Adam, and how deep they are into their relationship. I can't remember exactly what lead up to this, but she then tells me that he's flying her out to New Zealand to visit.

Suddenly, Time Warner (the cable company) drives up and disconnects my internet. I go outside to talk to them and they tell me that I was late paying the bill (which is odd, because I'm not the one who pays it), and that they're disconnecting me from the internet forever. I go back inside and flip through the phone book for internet companies and call a few -- they all give me the same answer "Your house has been blacklisted, so we can't give you internet service."

I call up Natalie (this couldn't have been more than 30 minutes later), and explain to her my internet is gone, then she tells me she's flying and would have to call me back later.

I wait a day and try to call back, and I get voicemail. I leave a message: "Hey love, call me back! Bye!" No call back. I wait another day, and the same thing. Very quickly days merge into weeks into months. I'd given up leaving messages after the first month, and now I sit by my phone waiting for a call, nothing else.

The months eventually turn into a year, and I still sit there waiting...

The years pass before my eyes, but my eyes never turned from that phone. Next thing I know, I'm being dragged off to a retirement home -- my phone comes with me, and I now sit somewhere I've never been, never speaking, just waiting.

Eventually a call comes. I pick it up to hear a man with an accent I've never heard before on the other end -- he explains who he is.. Adam. He tells me the story of their lives: How they got married soon after she arrived; About how she never looked back at her old life after she decided to stay, including the old friends she held dearest; And about how her children, Lily and Vladimir, have already grown up and how bright they were.

I ask about Natalie and her whereabouts, and he tells me in a solemn voice that she passed away about a year ago. Tears roll down my old face the moment he told me this, but I quickly thank him and hang up. I sit there for a few minutes, just in shock.. suddenly everything goes dark. I awaken in a hospital bed with an IV and a heart meter.

A beautiful nurse enters the room, and notices I'm awake. She tells me that I've been out for a month now, and that I seem to be stabilizing. I ask what happened, she explains that I just passed out suddenly and didn't wake up -- they transported me to the hospital very quickly after I fainted.

For a week she tended to me very well for a week, then my condition started becoming unstable on the 7th day. At this point, I realize that I don't know this kind person's name, so I ask.

The nurse tells me her name is Lily.

I thank her for what she's done with a smile, and then the world goes dark...
