So after hearing nothing from applying to jobs online for... well, since I moved back to MA, I went for a walk. I walked over to the local stores, which is about a 15 minute walk. On my way there, my aunt gave me a bottle of cold water, since I didn't bring one with me (we don't have any here). Wasn't even 5 minutes later, on my way to the stores, the water was warm. Anyway, it takes about 15-20 minutes to walk to the stores. I applied to 2 places there (it's a plaza, with a few stores, but not many hiring)... tried 3, but...
Store #1: First place I went to was a supermarket called Shaw's. I think it's only a local (Massachusetts) supermarket. Anyway, it's the place I keep applying to online. I walked in and couldn't see any applications out in the open. I talked to an employee there and turns out that the only way to apply, is to go yo their website... that's what I've been doing.
Store #2: Second place I applied to was a kids toy store. They aren't hiring until September though and when they do, it'll only be a few hours here and there. Not anything major, which means little pay checks, but... it's still a pay check, so I filled out an application and talked with the person working there for a long time. She understands my situation (having to walk to where ever I get hired, until I have the money for a license, car, etc.), but she said she doesn't think that job would be good for me, due to the little amount of hours.
Store #3: Third place I went to was Dunkin' Donuts. Was a very short application (only a few things on a 1 sided piece of paper). Not sure of the person's position that I handed it to, but they looked it over, as they taped it to a door... not sure why they did that.
When I was heading to Dunkin' Donuts, my aunt that had given me the water bottle pulled into the plaza and offered me a ride home, when I was done. She was there, to get something, so I said sure. Got home just before 1pm.
I hope I hear from one of the places...
