The Other Side Ch2Pt3(Sky)
“T-Thank you.” I breathed out. She threw the bullet onto the ground and the water splashed, a bit pink from my blood. “H-How did you do that?”
She shrugged. “Naturally born talent?”
“I-I don’t know how to repay your kindness.” I said as I ran my finger over my wound. Gone. Completely gone. Not even a single scar.
How did she do that?
“Yes.” My dad said. “If there is anything you want, anything, we’ll try our best to repay you.”
“Actually,” Aquilo spoke up. “we came here to get her.” His hot glare rested on me. I flinched.

It was pretty weird to have people in our living room. We never had visitors, more or less people like them. We didn’t have cousins and the only relative alive was my grandma, and she rarely came to Canada to visit us because she’s currently living in England. She likes to travel a lot.
“Would you like to explain why you want our daughter so much?” my mom said quietly.
Danny and Danielle both hugged me and yelled at them. “You’re not taking her anywhere! She’ll never leave us! Right, Sky?” they looked at me.
I just smiled and silently patted their heads, not knowing what else to do. Besides, their soft hair was comforting me. My shoulder still felt a little awkward.
My dad looked at me. “Um, Sky, why don’t you get some refreshment for our… eh… visitors?”
I nodded and hurried to the kitchen. With thumping heart, my trembling hands reached for the peach juice container and poured into different glasses. My heart beat so fast, and my hands felt so unsteady, I accidentally knocked one of the glasses and spilled the juice everywhere. The glass broke on the floor.
“Oh, geez.” I muttered and started to pick them up.
“Is everything okay, Sky?” my mom yelled.
“Um, yea!” I yelled back and concentrated on the glass shards. I had to pick every one of them or Danny or Danielle or Winnie will get hurt later.
I accidentally cut my finger with one of them. The blood oozed out from my middle finger and I quickly sucked my blood. “Ow.” I mumbled as I gathered the rest of them. It didn’t hurt as much as my shoulder did though.
I rubbed the place where I was hurt. How in the world did she do that? My wound just closed up. True, it was a really weird feeling, but it’s still gone.
It’s like… I don’t know, she healed me with that water appeared out of nowhere on her palm... or something.
I took out a new glass and poured the rest of the peach juice in it. When I went into the living room, it was completely silent in there. I coughed and everybody turned to me with gladness.
“Um, so.” I laid the glass one by one in front of the people. “What did you guys talk about while I was gone?”
“Nothing.” Danny said glumly.
“Um, oh.” I replied. “Anyways.” I sat down on the couch and sipped my juice. There was no sound in the living room except the gulping sound of the peach juice.
I bit my lips as I watched everybody gulp down their drinks. When are they going to explain themselves? Why did they want me? Were they planning on telling us or just abduct me? I had so many questions to ask, I thought they were going to crawl their way out of my mouth. But I kept them shut.
Naida put her glass down. “We should explain ourselves.” She glanced at Gaea. “It’s very rude of us.”
“You’re right.” Gaea breathed in deeply. “We’re sorry we didn’t explain sooner.” Then she turned to her group. “How can I explain this though?”
“Just show her why we’re here.” Ardea said. “They say a picture is worth thousand words.”
Gaea glanced at Naida. She shrugged.
“I think it’s a good idea.” Aquilo said quietly. They all seemed startled and looked at him.
“Okay then.” Gaea glanced at her team.
Ardea pointed at the sky and suddenly, there was a small flame going on her finger. We all gasped and stared in amazement.
“H-How do you do that?” I asked. “Doesn’t that hurt your finger?”
“Not at all.” She replied casually. “Keeps me cozy at night and in winter.”
Gaea stared at her in horror. “I thought Alina told you to stop lighting fire on your hand.”
“Aw, she won’t mind.”
“I’m sure she’ll mind once you accidentally set your room on fire.” She said in disbelief.
“What do we have Naida for then?”
“I’m not a firefighter, you know.” Naida replied. “I’m here to heal people.”
“You can heal people?” I asked lamely. Obvious I knew this, because how else could’ve she done that thing with my shoulder?
“And water.” She replied.
“Huh?”
“I can also control water, but only somewhat.” She said. “I’m major in healing with water, really.” She flashed me a smile.
“So… Uh, how does that explain why you’re here for me?” I asked.
“Oh, right.” Gaea clapped her hands. “You see, we come from Sanix.”
Mom stiffened beside me.
“Sanix?” I asked, wondering what happened to mom.
“It’s our homeland.” Ardea said.
Sanix. For some reason, that name sounded really familiar. “Sanix.” I whispered. The name sounded right on the tip of my tongue. “Why did you come?”
“Eh, well…” Gaea mumbled. “There’s a little…”
“War.” Aquilo said coldly.
“Misunderstanding.” She corrected him. “There’s a little misunderstanding going on in Sanix and… our Queen thinks there’s a person who may help us win the war and get the peace back once and for all.”
