“Mom, you know who they are?” I asked.
I stared at her. She looked troubled.
“I knew they would come for you one day.” She said, not looking at me. “I wanted what was best for our family. We had to come here.” She bit her lips. “If we didn’t, I knew they would involve you in this war one day or another.”
“Mom?” I frowned.
“We had to leave Sanix immediately when we found out you ruled over the Queens of Elements.” She said. “You were just 2 years old. Oh, Elaine…” she whispered and covered her face with her hands.
I bit my lips. “How come you never told you? And who’s Elaine?”
“The Queens of-” Gaea then stared at me. “You rule over the Queens of Elements?!”
I shrugged. “How should I know? Who are they anyways?”
“The Queens of Elements.” Gaea said knowingly. “Terra, the ruler of earth element.”
“Levina, the ruler of fire.” Ardea said.
“Aquanetta, the ruler of water element.” Naida said.
“Serina, the ruler of wind element.” Aquilo said.
“And Elaine and Lyla, the famous biovular twin of the ruler of light and dark elements.” Gaea said finally. “And you rule over them?”
“I-I don’t know.” I turned to my mom. Everybody’s gaze was on her except my dad.
“I-it’s true.” My mom said. “Your dad and I… We’re actually all Sanixan.”
“Huh?” I looked from mom to dad. “Heh?!?”
Now all the four of them were staring at my parents. “Ahh, no wonder you didn’t look as surprised as your kids when you saw us.” Gaea said. “How did you get here?”
My mom smiled weakly. “How else but by the warp hole scroll?”
Ardea gasped. “Those costs at least 50,000 pazils!”
“Pazils?”
“Money in Sanix.” Ardea explained. “The warp hole scroll is not only very rare, but also very expensive. It can create a warp hole to the other side of the world, either Sanix or Earth, depends on which side you’re on, and-”
“Warp hole?”
“The thing you saw that we arrived from.” Aquilo said. “The big black hole in the air.”
“Oh.”
“Mrs. Melton, if you have heard of Melantha, then you should understand the situation perfectly.” Aquilo said. “She will destroy Sanix unless Miss Melton here comes with us and fight alongside us.”
“I-I…” my mom looked at me hesitantly and tears appeared in her eyes. “Oh, Sky…”
I bit my lips. I made my mom cry. I felt so bad. “Mom, don’t cry… I just won’t go.”
