Family
Heavy rain, big wet drops dripping off a man's hat and coat, soaking him through, his trench coat fails to keep his pressed silk suit dry
The woman at his side, this man's wife, she is more dry than he is, still getting wet form the down pour, her heavy coat doing what it can to keep her beautiful cocktail dress from being ruined
Lightning rips across the sky, the young boy with his father's eyes and his mother's pale complexion grips the woman's leg through her coat from fear, forgetting how uncomfortable he was in the suit his father bought for him
Puddles become deeper and larger, threatening to ruin the pretty little girl's stocking and her Mary Jane shoes. She begs "Daddy, pick me up," but the man wants to keep his child as far from the treacherous sky as possible.
He holds her hand tightly, singing to his family as the wind howls, reassuring not only the cold and frightened children, but his weary and soaked wife.
The young family walks together, holding onto each other, Parents exchanging looks of encouragement mouthing the words "I love you" knowing if they tried to yell it, it would be lost in the wind and the rain. The children hold onto their parents hands, comforting them just as much as they feel their parents comfort.
They finally reemerge from the downfall of endless squall issuing from the gray-black sky,
They've made it home.
Their journey is far from over, and there will be harsher days to come,
But together, they will make it through...
A family, holding onto each other,
To weather the storm
