Glory Ends
The onslaught was too much for us
We were winning this war of deception
We had the high ground,
We were secure in our hideaway
We were safe...
...Then they found us...
All at once, the Knights of Darkness descended on our ranks
They tore my men apart, ripping them limb from limb
they tore their hearts from their chests, watching them freeze to solid ice, then letting them slip from their hands so they shatter on the ground
I watched the army I had built, the army of the Queen lay destroyed and her Kingdom reclaimed by Darkness
In his cruel mercy, the b*****d let me live
He sent my Queen, overcome with grief, to banish me from the land.
She was awaiting trial for her part in rebellion
She would either stay in the lands as his Queen again, or be cast out, but taken far Away from these lands, the opposite direction they were to take me
It would tears before I would even see my love, my Queen, my heart...
If at all...
She kissed my cheek and left me alone in that bloody field
Without glory...
With out hope...
With out Kingdom or Country...
just a tattered banner...
...and wooden planks to make a bloody cross...
