"I can't go through with this." said Ami Satomora. She was in Lumilass, a clothing shop in the Guardians Colony. "Yes you can." said Emelia Prescott, a big sister figure to Ami. She also happened to be the elder twin of her former instructor. "No I can't! I can't wear a two piece!" she shouted. "Is there something wrong ma'am?" asked the employee. "No." said Emelia. "Yes!" shouted Ami. Emelia sighed. "We're fine, she's just uncomfortable about wearing something that shows her stomach." The door opened. "You bet I am! He's going to laugh at me!" Ami said. The employee looked over at Ami. "Actually ma'am, that's a nice style for your figure. Are you by chance a Guardian?" She nodded. "I can tell, you have the body fit for it." Emelia nodded in agreement. "See even a complete stranger thinks it good." "That's not entirely the problem." Ami said. Emelia looked. "My stomach is fine. It's these." she said while pointed at her chest. Emelia was silent for a moment, then laughed out loud. "That's all? Really?" Ami looked away, face reddening. "I've never shown this much to them before. I don't want to get any funny looks." Ami wasn't particularly flat-chested. Actually, that was quite the opposite. Her chest was a reasonable size, maybe a little bigger than reasonable. But Ami had always had on a jacket or clothes that didn't make them so noticable. "Why are you so worried?" Emelia asked. "Just that ever since I've been a Guardian, I haven't worn something like this." Emelia placed her hand on Ami's shoulder. "Myself, Maya, Ethan's little sister, and Miss Karen will be coming along. There's no need to worry." Ami sighed. "Fine. I'll take this one."

Soon it was time to go to the resort. Ami packed up her stuff into her nanotransformer. "Have a nice day Ami." said Megami, Ami's partner machine. "I will. I guess." She went out of her room of the Guardians Barracks to make way to the P.P.T floor. Along the way, she bumped into the back of Hyuga, her close friend. Well, that's what Ami wants to believe at the moment. "Oh, good morning Ami." he said. "Good morning to you as well." she said shyly. "Ready to go?" She nodded. Ami couldn't help but stare at him. It was the first time she had seen him not in his usual attire. Instead of the purple jacket, he wore a simple sleeveless black top with shorts. It had accents of purple from his line shield. Ami tried to hide the blush forming on her face. "We'll get an earful if we don't hurry." he said. He grabbed Ami by the hand and the two rode on the elevator.
When they arrived at the floor, there were a group of people waiting for them. It was their friends. "You two always show up together." Noted Ethan. He got met with a sharp nudge to the ribs by Karen. "Stop giving double meanings." she scolded. She was to the left of him. To the right of him was his little sister Lumia. "He's like that sometimes." she said with a sigh. Emelia was bothering her younger twin, Emil while he was trying to ignore it. Emil seemed to act more mature most of the time than Emelia. Maya was sitting down on the bench. Kyoh, the one who planned the event and Ami's childhood friend, was looking up at signs on the shuttle. Last but not least was Ashe, Ami's trainee. She had met him while being temporarily working at Neudaiz. His face was red at seeing both Ami and Hyuga together. "Good morning Instructor Ami." he said in a shy voice. She shook her head and smiled. "It's not Instructor today, just Ami." He nodded. "Right...Ami." he said. Everyone was dressed in attire fit for summer. "Come on." said Kyoh. "We should board." Ami nodded. "Let's go." The group then headed to the shuttle.

After a shuttle and G-flyer flight later, the group of nine reached the beach resort, located on Parum. Emelia was the first to walk away. "I'm going to get changed, coming?" The girls nodded their head and went one way while the guys went another. Ami sighed as she got into her changing station. Their clothes could materialize and de-materialize because of their nanotransformers. But still it felt better to go in different stations. A blue light surrounded Ami as she was changing from her clothes to her swimsuit. Ami had heard some giggling from Maya and Emelia. The two worked together because they were in the same division Research and Development. They became quick friends. But Emelia had always had that talent to make everyone feel at ease. "I've heard that it's been rough finding a swimsuit." said Karen. She was in the station next to Ami. "I guess. I really am too modest I guess." Out of all the females, Ami had a good friendship with Karen. She understood about Ami's actions more quickly than anyone else. Emelia was like a big sister then Karen. "I know how that feels." Ami got out of her changing station, as did the other females. Karen was wearing a simple pink two piece with a blue design on it. Lumia wore a white and blue one-piece. Emelia and Maya both wore binikis. Maya's was a deep navy blue while Emelia's was a fire red. The two looked at each other in surprise. "You're wearing the same style?!" they exclaimed. They weren't mad about it though. "They are probably waiting for us." Lumia said. Ami nodded and followed Lumia, as did the others.
The males were already waiting for the females when they arrived. All the guys except for Emil had worn swimming shorts. Emil, wore a red and gray wetsuit. Ami started to hide behind Emelia, nervous about showing her swimsuit. Emelia turned to her. "Oh no you don't. We went through the hassle of getting it and you are going to like it." She pushed Ami to the front, with Ami nearly stumbling into the sand. Hyuga reached out to catch her. "Ehaaa!" she shouted. She stepped back at his sudden touch. Ami calmed herself down and looked away. "What did you touch?" Ethan asked. Hyuga's face turned red, "Stop giving your sentences double meanings. And I didn't touch what I think you're getting at." he said. He took a glance at Ami. She was wearing a black two-piece with matching sandals and wristband and sarong around her waist. Her hair was let out. "You....look nice." he said shyly. "Thanks." she said back, in the same manner. "Okay you two." said Emil, "The tension is getting thick." Ami broke off the glance. "He's right." Kyoh bought out a clear ball with a light inside. "Let's go play. This is what today is about."
Soon, a game of volleyball was beginning. "It's more girls than guys." said Ashe. Ethan placed his hand on top of Lumia's head. "Come on, you're too short to reach the net." Lumia pouted. "I am not." The two siblings laughed with one another. "I don't mind not playing." Ami said. Emelia gave a disappointed look. "It's not that it's not tempting." she said, to please Emelia. "Just that I played a couple times and I had to go to the imfimary." Kyoh snickered at what she meant. Then Ethan and Hyuga caught on. Ethan burst into laughter while Hyuga was trying not to laugh. "It's still not funny." "I was sorry." said Ethan. "I know." she said. Emil had a confused look on his face. "Back when we were at the training academy," explained Hyuga, "sometimes we would play, just for fun and physical practice." "Then," added Kyoh, "one time, Ethan spiked it. Don't get me wrong, it went over the net." "Right into my face." Ami mumbled. "I think she was knocked out by the sudden hit." Kyoh said. She shook her head. "I'll just walk around the area for a bit." she said, leaving them to their game.
The ball incident wasn't the only reason why Ami didn't want to play. She felt a bit distant than usual from the group. She couldn't explain why it happened. Just that it's been like that since the Seed-virus incident. She felt the sand inbetween her sandals. "Ami? Ami Satomora?" asked a female. Ami turned around as her eyes widnened. "No way." The female smiled. "It's been a while, since I graduated from the academy." Ami smiled a bit. "It's nice to see you Sara." Sara was Ami's roommate during the time they were in the training academy. She had finished her training about a month or so after Ami began hers. "How has work been for you?" Ami asked. Sara gave a slight nod. "It's been good. I've heard that Mobile Defense has been busy." "Busy enough." Ami answered. "And I've heard some things about you. Didn't know you and Ryght were together." Ami's face turned red. "No no no! We're not like that at all. We're good friends. Honestly, to think we have gossips in the Guardians." Sara shrugged her shoulders. "Every job tends to have a few. But I thought you hated him?" She looked out into the sea. "No, I didn't hate him. Just saw him as a rival." Sara laughed a bit. "I see, well it's nice to know that you aren't a hermit anymore." "I was not a hermit." she said. Ami closed her eyes. "But I'm feeling a bit off lately. Like I don't deserve their friendship." Sara sat on the sand. "I did some....things. I know they forgive me, but I can't forgive myself." "Let it go." Sara said plainly. Ami looked at her with curiousity. "What happened, happened. You can't change that. If you let it get to you. Then you'll stay a hermit." Sara stood up and dusted the dirt off her swimsuit. "I gotta go, it was nice seeing you again." Ami waved. "Thanks and keep in touch."
Ami continued to walk around the resort, thinking about what Sara said. She did a little swimming here and there. "Staying a hermit." Soon, she was within yards of where the group were playing at. It really did seem like fun. Ami sighed a bit to herself. "Just let it go..." "Watch out!" shouted Emelia. Ami looked up, only to see the ball heading for her. Within seconds, Ami was down on the ground, hit in the face by said ball. "Ohh you're gonna get it now." said Lumia. Once again, it was Ethan who spiked the ball past the group. Ami laid sprawled on the ground, her vision being a bit spotty. "Ami, wake up." shouted Kyoh. Karen was already making her way to Ami. "You okay?" she asked. Ami laid there, just waiting for her vision to get clearer. "Was it Ethan this time again?" Ami managed to say. "Yeah." Ami took a moment before getting up. "I'm fine. But..." She glared at Ethan. "He won't! Lumia, I subsituting for you, I don't want you to be in the midst when I beat that sorry excuse you call an older brother." They knew that Ami really didn't mean it, at least they didn't think so. Ami grabbed the ball and made a dash to the area. She threw the ball in the air and jumped. She delievered a hard spike of her own, aiming at Ethan. Hyuga came in front of him and bounced it back to the girl's side. "This is a group effort you know." he said nicely. Ami gave a smirk. "Fine then, don't say I didn't try."

By the end of the match, the girls barely won. Ami laid on the sand out of breath. "I haven't had that much fun in a while." she admitted. She looked at the setting sun. "It's nice to see you back to normal." Hyuga said as he sat beside her. "You've been a bit distant." Ami nodded. "Sorry about that. I guess I was still harping on the Seed incident." He dangled a ribbon in front of her. "Speaking of which." he said, "You left it at the Relics." Ami sat up and looked at the ribbon. "Thanks. But..." Ami stood up and went to the shoreline. She waited a couple seconds when a good breeze came in. She released the ribbon out to the ocean. "I'm going to try to not rely on the past anymore." She turned to him. "Apparently, being a hermit is no fun." He smiled at her. "Well, it's good to have you back."

I didn't know it then, but I had named the resort after where you find the first Gate of Denekaya, under Lake Denes in Parum XP
