Chapter 5
Ami was now a Guardian trainee. She swiped the card to her room in the barracks. There she was met with a floating machine. "You must be Ami Satomora." it said, in a feminine voice. "I'm your partner machine and from here on I'll be supporting you." Ami smiled at the red machine. "It's nice to meet you. Since you'll be an invaluable part of my becoming a Guardian, it's only fitting that you have a name. How about Megami?" It floated around. "Megami?" She nodded. "Megami is the name of my mom. I think the name suits you." It nodded. "From now on, I am known as Megami." Ami looked around the room. It looked like an ordinary room. "You only have one item on schedule today. To meet with your partner. You are to report to the Guardian's Headquarters and confirm your license." Ami nodded. "Thanks."
The headquarters was only a short walk from her barracks. She walked in. Ami recognized the receptionist from when she first got her appication. Mina smiled. "Welcome to the Guardians, protecting Gurhal's future." Ami pulled out her trainee license. "I'm here to confirm my mission." Mina took it and put it in a scanner. "I have confirmed your license. Hello Ami and welcome to your first day as a trainee. I'm Mina and I will be the one you see each time you need to confirm your license" She passed the license back to Ami. "Thanks. So where do I go?" Mina smiled. "You've been granted permission to go to Parum. From here, go to the P.P.T Port and take the Parum-bound shuttle. You should be meeting with your partner in the Guardians branch in Holtes." Ami processed all that was taken in. "Thank you Mina. I'm glad to have you around." She smiled back. "It's my job. May the Holy Light protect you."
Ami arrived in Holtes City. First thing she noticed was the Casts giving her looks. It didn't help that she was in uniform as well. It was a navy blue top with white sleeves and collar. Ami wore a navy blue short tie with it. The symbol for Guardians was on the right side of her shirt in light blue while on her sleeves in gold. She had on a navy blue skirt with one light blue stripe at the hemline with white heeled boots. Her hair grew a little bit since she became a trainee, to the top of her shoulders. So she kept it out in a layered cut. She made her way to the Guardians branch.
Before she got to the actual building, she saw a familar face. "Kyoh?" The silver haired male turned to her. "It's been a while." he said. Ami walked up to him. His unform was similar to Ami's, just wearing pants and shoes instead of skirt and boots. "I got a message to meet my partner today." Kyoh didn't hide the surprised look. "You too?" "This is weird." she said. Another male walked to them. "So you two must be my trainees."
The male was older than the both of them, seen by a few strands of graying hairs mixing with his natural red-brown. His glasses were thin with red frames, hiding a bit of his brown eyes. "We're a bit short handed so for now, it's two trainees to an instructor. There is no problem is there?" "No sir." they both said. "Well, for now just call me Instructor." He took out his digital clipboard. "Ami Satomora and Kyoh Sage. Hmm, you two joined at the same time?" "We're childhood friends Instructor." Kyoh added. "I see, so we should get along fine then." They nodded. "Alright, for our first mission. We've been asked to gather some samples from the meadows. We will encounter a few Seed infected creatures along the way. So make sure your weapons are in good standing." The two nodded. "Um Instructor?" asked Ami. He looked over at her. "What kind of samples?" "Right, we're going to be gathering from the plants. We'll use the goggles to find them."
The three went into the meadows and were met with Vahras. "Already?" Ami asked as she got her twin daggers out. Kyoh brandished his twin sabers while their instructor brandished a sword. They began attacking. The Vahras were proving to be quite the opponents. Eventually the first group fell. "This is going to be a task." Ami commented.
They were almost finished with their mission when the sky beyond the horizon was red. "A Seed?" asked Kyoh. Their instructor nodded. They were about to run to the source before a Cast stopped them. "Halt. No one is allowed beyond this point." "Can we not go and purify the blume?" asked the instructor. "No," answered the Cast, "besides, one of your comrades is already out there. We don't need anymore stupidity." Ami was about to say something, but held it in. She knew the uniform was belonging to AMF. And some were really against humans. "I see." The instructor turned to the trainees. "If that's the case, then we're not needed. Let's go find the last sample."

The mission turned out to be a success and the three were flying back to Holtes. "So Instructor, how long have you been a Guardian?" He leaned back while driving. "Well, I was a Guardian when I was sixteen. And this is my tenth year. But my first time being an instructor." Ami was surprised. "You must be stressed, with those gray hairs." Out of nowhere, Ami got hit with a Harisen Battle Fan. "What was that for?" "Please don't talk about my gray hairs." he said. Ami sank into her chair. "I'll get that weapon, just you wait." He smiled. "And I'll be proud of you when you do. I guess you don't have to be so formal around me. But I'm still older, so don't become too lax okay?"
"I'll go and file the report of the mission. You two go and rest, we'll be here a lot." said the instructor. "You're dismissed." As he walked into the Guardians branch, Ami and Kyoh looked at each other. "You're growing your hair back?" Ami nodded. "Yeah, but not as long. I heard twin dagger photon arts require a bit of spinning." The two were waiting for the earliest shuttle back to Headquarters. "It's been a while. Did you get a chance to talk with your parents?" Ami asked. Kyoh nodded. "Yeah, yesterday actually. They were quite impressed with how everything turned out so far. You?" Ami looked away. "Not really. I've been busy. I plan on doing it this month though. But, I want to clear up some time so that I can visit. My dad and I haven't talked since he came back." She stood up. "Our shuttle is about to come. Lets go."

So the infamous reunion is coming soon. And I'm almost done typing the fanfic. I'm proud to say that it's my longest fanfiction ever.
