Hi all my friends, perhaps the public too smile

Somehow I feel left behind. Gaia's changed so much, that when I last logged in last year (which was April-'ish), I knew what was happening, all the current EIs, Marketplace prices, the Monthly Collectibles and just useless stuff like that (to me, I never seem to use this knowledge anyway!)

10 months ago, as I said last time, Fallen Wish 4th Gen was about 250k, now it has gone up, over 10 months, about 72%. Everything I wanted back then is rocket-priced now. Even Rock Puppy has gone up by about 50%. More on this in my next article, which compares the rise of EIs and certain MCs.

Can this rise be justified? Of course, all (or at least most) Gaia members try to keep up with the selling rates. Even I do if something is cheap. And we've all felt a little greedy, like "I could make 150k profit if it sells!" or "I know I'm overcharging, but I'm questing for Angus the Scottie Plushie!" but has our greed gone too far? Or is it members of certain guilds intent on manipulating the Marketplace by inflating items? Even perhaps it's just rarity, it is a Monthly Collectible, or anything?

Truth is, it is unlikely we'll (as in most Gaia members again) that we'll ever know. While some prices of items had fell in Winter 2008 (where Grunnies fell from 30k to 25k) is this an excuse for our very-high rises?

Again, it's unlikely most of us will never know. We'll just have to live with it.

From now, I will look at current Marketplace prices over the next months. Perhaps prices will fall again, just like November 2008, or still on the increase. I plan to monitor prices for a MONTH from 12th February 2010 and report any increases in forthcoming articles.
