The taller girl collided into the kid, sending him flying into the snow face-first. His magic backfired and sprayed blue bolts in every direction. The girl fell backwards confused and panicked. Her long raven hair buried her face.
Fai pulled his head out of the snow and looked around, brushing snow out of his hair. When he saw the girl he jumped and gasped with wide eyes. The girl looked at him, half relieved. "Please! Can you help me?" she begged.
Fai found his staff in the snow and picked it up. The cold metal chilled his hands. He stood, brushing snow off of his fluffy clothes. He didn't speak a word.
"Please! They're after me!" the girl cried. Fai looked at her silently, a frown on his small face. "Can't you just hide me? I'll leave in the morning! I just need tonight.." she pleaded. Fai thought for a moment. He nodded.
"Thank you! Thank you so much!" She breathed in relief and stood on her knees to hug Fai. Fai was horrified, having never been hugged by anyone before other than his twin brother. The girl stood up fully then. "I'm Jynette."
