We bolted down the hallway avoiding every piece of machinery, should it be alive. It was a rather annoying feeling that some piece of metal would just pop out an-
gonk “Oh gosh!” I cried when such an event did happen. One of the metal sheets bolted against the wall just flew off revealing a rather angry looking larger robot.
I ran right under it in sheer terror down the corridor. I could hear its heavy metal footsteps following us.
mad “Can’t you run any faster?” Emi asked.
crying “I’m running as fast as I can.” I returned.
stare “You’re doing a lousy job at it, he’s almost on us.”
scream “Don’t you think I know that!”
I darted into a side hallway as the lumbering monster over took the turn and crashed into a metal heap.
confused "Do you know where you're going?" Emi asked.
sweatdrop "No, not really. Making this up as I go now." I said. The corridors seemed like an endless maze which no one could get out of. Then again, I'm sure that was the idea. Never was good at mazes, even if they were on a piece of paper. Normally I would just zap myself out of a situation, but doesn't look possible right now.
Heart racing and legs pumping, I ran on in hopes of finding something that looked like an exit, or at least get me back to the thrown room. How I would love to put it in that rat's face that he could not hold a 'powerless' magician. Of course my internal glory was short lived as we came to a dead end.
"Well now what?" Emi asked.
"Gimme a second." I said trying to determine a good way out. The only good idea I had was to climb the chains hanging from the ceiling to the skylight. I was halfway up when those steam robots found my location and did the one thing I hoped they could not do. Climb walls...
I tried to scramble up faster, but they had already reached us. "Hang on, Emi." I said. I felt her clutch my neck and I curled up as tight as I could before the robot's giant iron arm swung and hit us. Sure enough, he cracked my ribs and we swung across the room. I attempted to continue climbing, but, my ribs caused too much pain. I knew I wasn't getting out.
"Emi, you're going to have to climb." I said. I heard her take a deep sigh and sprinkled some dust on the chain.
"You may want to hold on." She said.
I was glad I did, for the chain suddenly shot for the sky just before the robot could grab us. I held onto my hat and curled enough to provide enough shielding for Emilia before we busted through the glass window skylight.
gonk "Aaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhhhhhhh!" I cried as we shot into the air and crashed onto the roof. Thankfully Emi was okay. My ribcage on the other hand, was not.
"Well, that wasn't fun. Now what?" She asked.
"We somehow get down." I said, gazing over the edge of the building.
rolleyes "Greaaaaaaaaaat."
