As some of you may or may not, I've been job hunting for... well, a long time. About 2 weeks ago I had an interview with Macy's. It went extremely well, even though I didn't dress appropriately for an interview and was extremely nervous. What I thought was strange was the person who interviewed me almost right away said "I want to hire you for the position", before they even went over my resume. They also only asked me my previous work history. None of the questions I have been going to the resume classes for, to prepare, were asked.
So after the interview, I was shown around the place. Informed what the job was. Shown were I'd be working. At the end, I had to complete my application with a questionnaire on their computer. The employee said it was a questionnaire. The computer said so as well. The employee walked away as I started. It asked where I lived and my social security. After that, it said I was done. I sat there for a minute or so, looking around for any links to the questionnaire I was told to do. Saw none. Went back to the employee. They commented how fast it took me, so I told them exactly what happened. They looked puzzled, then gave me some papers to fill out. After that, I was done. I was told a background check had to be done, which could take 10 days. As I was leaving, she said "Welcome to Macy's". That get my hopes up a lot more.
Then... a few days go by. No calls. Week goes by. Nothing. I started to think that maybe I didn't get the job... until today. Macy's called and setup a time to go in for training next week! biggrin
So... it seems as if I'm hired. I'm really hoping. It seems it, since they're going to train me. Hoping it's not some sort of trial thing...
So... I have a job.
