Anime and manga have ruined me for all men. Either that, or I'm right in assuming that all the guys around me are just f*cking creepy.
Answer me this:
You see a guy that you used to eat lunch with in a group in high school, after having been out of school and out of contact for over a year, so you give him your number so you can catch up. He calls you the next day, but you're watching football with your dad all day and miss his call [GO DAWGS!]. The next day you do some yardwork, come inside and check your phone for any missed calls, and find love text messages [PLURAL] about how you're the only thing he wants for his birthday.
Would you think "aww, how sweet, this guy that barely knows me is already stalking me!"
Or would you think "WTF? I barely know you!"
True, I may be jaded and ruined by the manga-man, but I've already been through the stalker thing before. I had to beat the last one off with a trumpet case to get him to leave me alone in public-and he still kept calling me.
