Yay for random drawings and a lot of backstory! ^ ^
Hand Study (Welcome to Hell)
Mainly I did this for practice for my drawing class, but I also liked how it turned out and decided to modify it a bit for online purposes. I actually drew the symbol tattooed on the second hand on the back of my own in order to get the symbol just right. Anywho, here's the picture along with the back story.

Bursting through the burning surface, taking in a breath of air that smelled so bad that it had to be made mostly out of sulphur, your entire body burns while your hand and face feel freezing. You realize you're swimming in a lake of fire and lava, breathing in air that no living person's body could possibly take in and still be living. You know now that you have died, and you are in hell.

A man covered in tattoos that ended at his fingers reached out to grab your hand and pull you to shore. He crouched down and put a cloth he seemingly pulled from nowhere over your shoulders, covering only part of your bare body. The man looked directly in your eyes and smiled. He took one of your hands and shook it, "Welcome to hell." He said, still smiling.

Fine, you want me to say something that actually makes sense? Here I go: These are the best damn hands I've seen in a while. They're realistic, the fingers are the right size, and the backstory to it is great. There. I can't think of anything that's bad with it, except for possibly the nail for the thumb on the right hand. It seems a bit small.

Good job. Now, did that make you happy?

Yes, I'm very happy from that.

Although that only tells me I have the near-impossible task of representing angle better. Thanks, now I'm all depressed and angsty. Hide the razors and makeup, I'm going emo! emo

Although now that I REALLY look at it I notice that I messed up the shadowing on the right hand's ring finger.

Hmm, I didn't notice that before... And now that you have me looking at shading, wouldn't the main light source be coming from the bottom, considering that seems to be a massive pit of lava? It'd probably cancel out the light from the top, or maybe they would combine... Which is the hardest thing to do with shading.

HEY!!! SOMEBODY WHO CAN ACTUALLY DRAW DECENT HANDS!!!

Personally, I find them to be as harder than faces...

Anywho, I can only draw them well (consistently) if they're at someone's side from a distance! XD
