Actually, there is a story in a book called Skin where plants actaully do have nerves and commuication, but anyway, I'm talking about the Language of the Flowers. It was a common practise as early on as the Dark Ages to assign meanings to flowers so that one could send another a message about their relationship. It regained popularity in the Victorian Age and is becoming more well known now as well. Eventually I suppose I'll put down all my favourites, but for now, we'll stick to roses. I've been using these in my posts, and yes, I think about each colour that appears in my story, so if you are curious: here you go.
Be wary! My definitions are the ones that I was taught, but they are subject to variation by geographic area and time! What I'm saying is don't kill me if you have a different meaning, please.
