The Source: Prologue - Part II
The television broadcasted the news quietly in the background of a small house, in a small neighborhood. The family that resides in this house, had recently sat down to their breakfast. The father insited they listen to the news, due to the rumor of a kidnapping in their neighborhood. Rumors traveled fast in small neighborhoods, and this was no exception. Why the kidnapping was said to have only occured two nights before. The mother had said the children didn't need to see such acts against humanity while they were sitting down for a meal. "It's local," the father argued, "They need to know what's going on. Not only would they be out of 'the loop', but it's good to be aware of ilegal acts, so as never to be caught off guard." Seeing some sense in this, the mother allowed it, but she would not go down so easily. She would want the television turned off as soon as the story had finished. Television at the table taught bad manners. The news went on, and near the time or school, the story came on. It turned out a family of three had been missing, and the police were to wait for a ransom note of some sort to a family member. As soon as this had been said, the motehr turned off the television via the remote she had discretly taken without the father noticing, and was about to send the children off to school. She recalled the newscast and grabebd her keys from the kitchen counter. The father smirked his victorious smirk. "See, now wasn't that a good idea?" The mother, not wanting to admit defeat, said in reply, "I need a new tank of gas anyway." The fatehr let out a smal laugh as he finished his own breakfast, and gathered his briefcase and small odds and ends he took to his work. Giving a small loving peck to his wife as she pulled out of the driveway, he opened his own car, and started it up.

After pulling out, and driving a few blocks down, slowing down at one of the corners, he noticed a man standing there, in a tattered brown trenchcoat and torn pilot's hat of the matching color. At second glance, the trenchcoat and hat were gone. It was probably his eyes playing tricks on him, seeing as how he had an xtra large cup of coffe this morning. Getting ready for a big meeting. None the less, the man looked worn and tired. He got out of his car, and approached the man confidently. "Hallo there. You ok?" He said to the worn man in a friendly tone. The man simply would hum a little tune. Apparantly he had been huming it for a while, for even his hum saounded raspy. The man nodded, and continued to hum. The father of a large family, he couldn't help but be giving. It became a habit after you had four kids. He took out his wallet and gave the man a brisk twenty dollar bill. The man took it cautiously, and smiled. He stopped humming long enough only to say a very hoarse, "Thank you." The father smiled very proudly, and strode back into his car. "I hope you get back on your feet," the father shouted back to the man as he closed the door. The man smiled even more largely and waved to the car as it drove away.

Sorry it so short. I didn't plan on the unfinished bit being so short, but it's how it all worked out, eh?

Well, till next time. The chapters are to be written, and I may be a while before I get some in. I have school and such to deal with, so bear with me, ok? Until then, I'll post old work, some poems, or some shorts stories I make on the side. I also hope for some submissions and ideas.
