Shadows of Fear, Chapter 6
I was running...
Running through the darkness again, the shadow person on my tail...
"Come here, Sky," it hissed, racing along.
I searched frantically for the light...
I knew it was here...
Somewhere...
I felt an icy cold hand grip around my wrist and I was yanked back.
"Do the right thing and die..."
"Why would I?" I said in my eight-year-old form.
"To save your mom, your uncle, your brother...And /him/..."
The light appeared again in the distance, melting once more into the shape of a boy.
"LET GO!" I screamed, trying to wriggle out of its grasp.
It brought out a dagger from nowhere, looking at the dagger’s glinting blade before smirking evilly at me.
I screamed and the shadow person brought the dagger down fast.
"Say good-bye forever, Sky!"
I screamed something.

I bolted upright in my sleep, breathing heavily. That’s the second time I almost died in a dream. I drew my knees up to my chest and rested my head on them, taking a few shuddering breaths before I finally calmed down.
These dreams had to stop…
I was going insane…
I slid off my cloud, grabbed the blanket at the foot of it and walked out into the hallway. As soon as the door shut behind me, I turned and headed up to the roof instead of to the kitchen like last night.
Millions of stars dotted the sky and a full moon smiled down at me. I smiled and sat down on the edge, wrapping the blanket around me, laying back and looking up at the stars.
I was up there for a couple minutes before the door opened.
I sat up and looked over to see Alex walking over to me. He sat down and I wrapped the blanket around us, smiling.
“Thanks,” He said, smiling too. I nodded and looked back up at the sky. The stars twinkled down at us.
“Sure is pretty, isn’t it?” I asked, looking back over.
“Yeah…” He said, still looking up. I felt him scoot in and adjust the blanket a little. My left ear drooped a little, but I continued to look up.
“Unaccompanied Minors is still in town. Wanna go see it tomorrow?” Alex asked.
“Yeah,” I said. “But I really wanna see the seventh Harry Potter movie…”
“But that’s not out yet…Even the book isn’t out yet…”
“Oops…” I said, looking over. He had a smirk on his face.
“What?”
“You’re from the future, aren’t you?”
“Yeah…So?”
“I knew it.”
“Was it that obvious?”
“Kinda…You and Sil look so much alike, but yet you didn’t seem like you could be sisters, so I went with the next best thing…”
“Oh…” I looked back up. So he knew…Oh, well…I’ve been wanting to tell him for a while.
“Sky?” Alex asked after a while.
“Yeah?” I said, continuing to look up.
“I have something to tell you…”
“Go ahead.”
Alex took a deep breath. I continued to look at the stars.
“Sky? I wanted to tell you that---”
“Look! Shooting star!” I exclaimed, pointing to the sky. Alex looked up just in time to see it shoot across the sky and disappear. I shut my eyes tightly and made a wish.
When I was done, I opened my eyes and looked over at him. He was still wishing, so I wrapped my half of the blanket tighter around me and scooted in closer to him. When he was done, he looked down at me and smiled.
“What? I’m cold…”
He continued to smile and looked back up to the sky. I did too.
We stayed like that for a while, talking about how different things were in the past.
After a long time, I yawned and stood up.
“I’d better get back in…Unlike Mom; I can’t stay up all night and then be all peppy-perky all day…” I said.
“Yeah…” Alex said, standing up and handing me the blanket.
I walked over to the door and placed my hand on the doorknob when I remembered something.
“Hey, Alex? What did you want to tell me, before we saw the shooting star?” I turned and looked at him, a hand still on the doorknob.
“It wasn’t important…Anyways, you’d better get back. I’ll see you tomorrow, okay?”
“Okay…” I said, nodding. I turned the knob and entered the Tower, walking back to Sil’s room.
Somehow, I knew what he was gonna ask me /was/ important…
I laid down on my cloud, pulling my blanket up to my chin and staring at the wall.
I just wondered if he was gonna ask me again…
